    On Friday I took this back;

And drove away a new face lifted model. The changes are only slight, but overall make for a much more enjoyable car.

Nothing. I sold the Merc A200 pictured long ago in this thread. I squeaked out only 4500Km in 3 years. It was a faultless family car but with that annual mileage, it would have been cheaper to just hail a taxi. Which is what I do now

I do like the look of recent Alfas though...

No, 2.0 diesel 150bhp. It's for work, so quite a few motorway miles.

My C2S sounds like a bit of a vacuum cleaner but that will soon be rectified - this bit of finely wrought Italian craftsmanship arrived yesterday:

I should have it on the car in the next week, when it will sound like this:

    I've a 2006 Gen 1 997 C2S with sports exhaust...which I am pleased with.

    Do these count ???

I also have a Multistrada and a VW Scirocco for the road, the two above are my track babies :) The 996 has over 50,000 miles on it and I've owned it over ten years, love that bike.

The latest addition to the fleet:

Lovely 5L V8, 0-60 in 8 seconds (but best keep it in a straight line when doing so), built like a brick karzie, tows like it hasn’t got anything behind it and armchairs for seats: what’s not to like? (A: fuel consumption).

My brother-in-law has one of these, he had it converted to run on LPG gas, it might be an option.

No, I didn't unfortunately. By all accounts the PSE is pretty good too. I also considered the 'Gundo' side muffler hack plus cross pipes to eliminate centre rear muffler as a much cheaper option. Gundo on its own very similar to sound of PSE I believe. In the end, I managed to land the Tubi at a good price. Normal retail is pretty stiff...

    Thanks.

For some reason, the 997.1s with sports exhaust sound better than the 997.2s with PSE. Roartier I believe.

Picked this up yesterday (seller's pictures). The sun is out this morning, so top down will be all the better to hear the Nascar-like soundtrack.

Some more of the RS4 for those who asked.

It's 4.2 V8 pumpin' out 444bhp, 7 speed DSG, quattro. Paint is special order Nimbus Grey, had to wait 9 months for delivery! It's almost flat grey like a Nazi staff car LOL, suits it I think.

0-60 in hair over 4, subject to dog being tied down of course. Certainly corners better than a bloody Cayenne! And yes it's very practical and useful so it's money well spent. Grin

Wow, that's a serious saving! I hope the servicing costs don't reflect the original price though.

You are a patient man. I could hardly wait the 2 weeks for my new Alfa. The grey looks awesome.

They will be ... always are, the looking after costs will be in relation to a 100k car, not a 20k one, I know as I've been there, but you are still getting a 100k car experience for 20k :)

    Man maths in full effect.

The car has just turned seven years old, at which Mercedes servicing offer 40% off labour and 20% off parts. Mot for 12 months, service not due for 8,000 miles (about two years worth at my rate - it is a sixth car) and tier 1 Merc warranty. So all in all not bad on the costs front. Add to that insurance at Ģ200 pa. What's not to like?

I like everything about it. And 6 cars? You're worse than me! I've just downsized to 4 (F10 520d touring, Subaru Legacy 3.0r Spec B, Lotus Elan turbo m100, Ford Capri 280)

Definitely does, the 19" wheels look better and that 10mm height drop just rounds it off, pretty darn quick as well!
