It was the new M6, awesome bit of kit, brutally fast. I have driven the 640d too and that is also a lovely drive and in day to day driving more than fast enough.

Nice V8S. I had one a few years ago, in Cooper Green. Lovely car it was too. One of those that I sold and wish I hadn't.

My current fleet consists of a lowly Focus 1.6 Zetec which I use for commuting duties, a Skoda Octavia estate for family trips and an old Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo (tweaked and running 320bhp) as a weekend toy.

This has been very good to have this rather severe winter

Easily sits six persons and is very nice both on- and offroad.

Im 6.4 and this is the first motor, that Im really comfortable driving.

I have a roof tent, but find it ironic, that I use a tent on top of a vehicle already equipped with a telescopic roof section.

Cutting a hole in the roof of an brand new motor and installing the telescopic roof how ever had to be done in order to shave 50-60K off the price of the vehicle which already cost twice that.

There is practically no where this wont go, though of course the running boards/step puts some limitations on the fun and games. The vehicle can be lifted and Im quite surprised, how steep an incline such a heavy vehicle will defeat even when its running on mud or ice.

Cheers, it's a 2005 997.1 Carrera S. 1 owner car with a great history and Porsche warranty so fingers crossed cheap-ish(!) motoring until the next service in October '14.

I've been into cars and motorbikes longer than I've been into watches so actually have a bigger collection of them.

    The daily

    The fast one

The commuters (picture taken at our last house)

If the sun ever shines (and my old man can be convinced to get out of it)

Will you be using it as a a daily? Can I ask what these cost to run?

    Why thank you.

The range rover is a TD6 vogue, my first green oval but I doubt it'll be my last.

The Audi is my wifes (A3 tdi). Completely sensible to balance out my ridiculous selection.

It is isn't it. The thing is I bought it about eight years ago but now I'm in my 40's I look a little sad in it.

Its a Japanese import and looks exactly how it did when it left the factory however I have made some changes in the engine department though so it's running a little more power than most.

Not a daily as such but will be getting good use (share a 1 series with Mrs and have a van for work/long journeys). Servicing isn't too bad, £450 for a minor (plus £150 for brake fluid) and about £1k for a major every four years. Obviously tyres are expensive c£1k a set, and if things go wrong it could spiral. Have a year's Porsche warranty which was a must to cover any potential engine issues, and I'll be looking into other warranties come next March.

Cheers, have read up quite a bit on the issues, rather not read anymore now otherwise I'll never sleep Car is just over 50k, peace of mind of a recent major service/inspection and all is good. I think the issues are probably built up worse than they actually are, you don't often find all the 1000s of owners who haven't had any problems posting on forums. Certainly going to keep the car under warranty though as you can't be too careful.

This is true, it infuriates me the amount of people that go on, about the issues which are few and far between. I had a major service done in november by a well known Indy and the service and price were excellent! I still havent really had a proper drive out in it yet 140 on christmas day on a private road was as brave as i have managed to be, but the Porsche Museum is calling at some point! Enjoy your new toy!

Lot of car for circa 20K. Just enjoy it and don't worry about possible issues or the fun of ownership will be tarnished.

Nah, my kids are banned from sticky or oily foods in my car, simple!

My Merc interior was spotless when traded in, little eating and regular valeting saw to that.

It's leather in the end so a wipe clean with a light leather cleaning spray.

    Cheers

    JC

This is my ride - never thought I'd be Mondeo man - well, in a manner of speaking - this is a Ford Fusion, which is the North American/Canadian version of the Mondeo back home. This is the Sport, it has a 3.5lt V6 coupled with a six speed automatic and AWD. It has a good turn of speed and a lovely rumble when you fire it up

Rear view with my Veterans plate
