    Volvo XC60.

Bought a brand new S3 in December, sold it in February. Was fed up of seeing people creeping up my drive and behind my gate on the CCTV. Life's too short

Here are our 3 which all do very different jobs. The i3 is fully electric and, despite being an early version with limited range, covers more miles each year than the other 2 combined.

Strangely, yes. Decided I did not need nor want a sports car in my life. Max the Dog was a significant deciding factor. He loves the wind in his ears.

    Does
    not
    compute.

Next you'll be saying you only need or want one watch.

I'll accept that there are people who don't want sports cars and who only want one cheap quartz watch from Argos, but that doesn't make those people right.

    You'll regret it!!!

Only had the MX5 a couple of weeks and it's an absolute blast

Have owned plenty of faster cars, but this just puts a great grim on your face

Max could have sat in the MX5

Just bought a Defender 90 hardtop, wanted one for a while and found this very tidy example with only 34k on the clock. Have a few choice mods planned (Momo steering wheel etc) but nothing too lairy. Must admit it wasn't fun having a 7 hour trip back home with traffic jams allover the place on the M1 and M25 yesterday Happy with the three cars now, all bases covered I think!

I appreciate the sentiment, but sports/fast cars have just cluttered my life but never delivered - Nissan GTR, Boxster S, Carrera S, Caterham Superlight, M3, M5, AM Vantage - all have come and gone. Doors, windscreen, roof off - Max and me have never been happier. 25c here today, which helped.

Great choice! You just never really see competitive deals on them which always puts me off.

I’ve posted this car up before, but last Friday I took my awesome MX5 to its first track day. It was utterly sublime, handling balance, feedback and fun factor was amazing. I’ve driven some cars but there just aren’t enough superlatives to sum up this car. At the money there is nothing even close; come on Toyota, how about a new MR2?

Forgot to update this - picked this up recently:

Sadly it's not that clean any more - nicer than the Auris it replaced.

    Cheers,

Lovely car, I’d definitely buy one if I needed a luxo limo. The XJR’s seem to be holding value or even on the up, how are these doing?

I’ve only done it the once in sport plus & the accelerator modulation once the bounce happened was awful. Luckily read up about it before it happened & realised I was being non commital on it.

Are you the same user on Cutters? Selling any carbon? Lol

Its a bit like this place is with watches, you will discover things you didn’t know you needed!

I started with an exhaust valves control, then a GTS gearbox flash with the CS EDC. My extended paddles shifters will be collected tonight & fitted tomorrow.

Carbon trinkets come next! I want to get the wingmirrors, exhaust tips and rear spoiler done, as think it balances off the roof nicely on my mineral white one.

The car will spend a lot of the time whispering that it’s going to kill you lol. You get used to it!

No neither, however I know three people who can't live with the fault, turn it up to sport plus and try to pull away normally.

My dealer had six customers all complaining, BMW came down and test drove the car then went away, the official response was that it was a race setting and they are supposed to do that, which is rubbish race cars still use part throttle. There is an easy fix, replace the gearbox map with the GTS and it doesn't do it, lots of people have done it but BMW say it will invalidate your warranty, It is appallingly poor mapping, their is no way a road car should do this, it isn't a race car, I have driven race cars at all levels and never had one do this, you can get it into a loop to the point that the traction control thinks the car is in trouble.

I am amazed at the number of owners who swallow this rubbish about modulating the throttle, sooner or later someone will have an accident due to this fault.

You are not going to believe this, I sold a set of carbon exhaust tips on ebay last night, I have also sold the carbon gearshift surround.

I went for the flash to GTS as soon as I got it. Same gearbox etc as GTS on realoem, just dealing with lower power in mine. BMW won’t be able to wash their hands as the 2 systems are identical.

Didn’t drive mine more than a couple of times before I got it done to be fair, as just wanted it smoother. Agree it can be somewhat on-off like a switch.

Starting my 10th year of retirement, I just bought one of these turbo models. Mine is so dirty from the rainy weather I'll have to wait to take a proper photo of it.
