Needed something small enough for the wife to park, but with a boot big enough for a large fluffy labradoodle! So picked this up last month, hybrid drive, does about 70mpg round town, 55 when cruising at 70mph. Is packed full of goodies too, reversing camera etc. Also has KERS to recharge the system!

Would be interested to hear your views on living with a hybrid day to day as I've just ordered one.

Tried as I might, an oldie just did not fit with my lifestyle. Perhaps one day.

Merc C220 coupe CDi AMG Sport with all the toys.

Got it on a cracking lease deal though a chap on PistonHeads, £295 a month.

After seeing the new Tesla I looked up the lease prices on those, they start at £800pm. As my fuel bill is about £60 a month, it isn't going to save me any money!

  13. #1963
We had a Tesla 85 here the other week. The owner drove it down from Scandinavia to London to us in Devon.
Great looking fast and luxurious car. It reminded me of a Jag XF. It even had electric door handles that went flush when locked.

The massive down side besides the price was. The nearest Tesla charge point was either in Reading or Birmingham.

Thanks! The roof rack has been removed now ..... that pic was soon after I collected it and it came with it.

24k miles in all and all original paint. Even has a 55 yr old crossply as a spare tyre (shan't be using that!)...

Thanks, sure I can.... She is a 1960 model year 1200cc (30hp) beetle in a one year only colour, Indigo blue. Supplied with a few options, mud flaps, driver side mirror and wheel embelishers (outer hub cap rings) which I've removed but will keep. Originally exported to Sweden she is a Left hand drive car. 1st owner was given her for her 30th birthday by her husband and she owned her for an incredible 40 years, selling her back to the servicing VW dealer when she reached 70, having covered a grand total of around 20,000 miles. She didn't have much need for a car, so it spent all of its time garaged. In 2000 she was imported into the UK by a VW specialist and subsequently sold to her 1st UK owner. I'm the 4th owner now I think. Everything is stock, with original engine, bodywork, interior, paintwork, 6 volt electrics. She's never even had a respray, and as a result the paint is wonderfully thin in places, which adds character. She's on crossply tyres, the spare is still one of the original tyres from new. As you can probably tell I'm really quite taken with her!

    This Redhead

After 15 years of Alfas my search for a replacement estate for my 156 sportwagon got sidetracked by a misplaced ad for a cabriolet. These are now remarkably affordable, particularly the bigger engined variants like this 3.0l V6 Quattro. Definitely not for hairdressers

And now the VX220 has had an EATON 'pacemaker' fitted for extra oomph.

    Porsche Embossed headrests
Colour Porsche badges for alloys ( yes this is an option)
    PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management)
    Bi-Xenon headlights
    Multifunction Steering Wheel

The turbo alloys really set it off a great option! Is it a petrol, considering it has the sports exhaust?

  34. #1984
This is a diesel. To be honest I am not 100% of the exact exhaust although it doesn't look standard! (I bought it at auction and they are useless at listing all the options) The alloys are what really attracted me to the car , there are so many Cayennes with smaller alloys which don;t loo great IMO. The colour coded extended arches and skirts. also were the second thing that really stood out. I am not keen on the matt black arches especially when the colour of the car isn't black.

Stand corrected . They're sports tips not a sports exhaust.

I had a Gen 1 Cayenne Turbo for a year and it still holds a special place in my heart. Comical power and v good handling. Luckily my employer was picking up my fuel bills! Overall a nice package. Macan looks appealing now. Marmite looks but I love it.

  36. #1986
Love the Macan! I tend to buy my cars used and if the Macan was available used at a good discount I would have definitely got one !

I totally agree with you! Especially on a car of that value, I don't know why it isn't standard on all cayennes! I am guessing its like the exhaust on the Audi SQ5 they sound awesome even though they are a diesel IMO. Was there a big saving to be had going to the auction?

I went to British Car Auctions to their site in Blackbushe. The cars they tend to stock are ex lease/ company cars etc . You can register and search what will come up and they will give you a guide priced based on what cars have sold for in the last 30 days.

This was the only 958 Cayenne on the day , this one was quiet well specced so had a lot of bidders so it wasn't the deal of the century but certainly 10% lower than what I was looking at for similar or lesser models on Autotrader.

The cars they had plenty of Audis , BMWs , Volkswagens. Some of the deals were incredible! They have Audi days, BMW days etc- and hopefully if you have a multiples q5s etc you should get a better deal.

I went on Lex auto lease day- so a lot of the cars were all different makes that were leased.

They sold just shy of 800 on the day I went! Would definitely recommend it.

Ive just dropped back onto having a company car so my car buying days are gone for a while, although i still have a 911 which I'm hoping to move onto a Ferrari next year if all goes to plan. I went to BCA a few years ago when i was a kid with my uncle great day out! I must get back there love the whole atmosphere of it all. I would recommend going to an indy for servicing as Porsche prices are just get silly these days, Northway (Reading) are very good but i think they may be a bit far out for you, if i remember rightly your surrey somewhere.

It is a great buzz. Unreal how quick the cars go! I think Auctions have a come a long way from the old shady things they used to be. Look forward to seeing your Ferrari once you get it here!

Porsche quoted me over £500 for a mini service- which I think was just oil and break fluid! I'm in North London , so there's a few Independents nearby who I think I;ll use when the time comes.

The i3 makes me a bit of a schitzophrenic driver. The acceleration and drive is tremendous fun so sometimes I like to thrash it. Then other days you find yourself trying to beat your most efficient drive data and eak out as much range as possible. The BMW app has cleverly gamified this by showing you all your efficiency data vs all other i3 owners. So you either drive like a psychotic loon or like the most annoying grandma on the road!

How do you check the guide prices of cars sold in the past 30 days? I registered but it says you need be a car trader to check the guide prices .

Call the landline during office hours and give them the registration number and they'll give it to you over the phone.
