I read this thread just before going to sleep last night - then had a dream I bought a mustang!! I was gutted when I woke up!

I love that Enoch! A real head turner!

I was going to say what car until I saw this lot here. They make my car look like a load of crap to be honest so I`ll just have to keep dreaming i guess.

That sounds awesome - but have you just invalidated your warranty after a day of ownership?!

......it's a Ford approved part, supplied by a ford dealer, and the only thing not covered is the exhaust itself.... My local dealer assures me that if a wheel bearing fails, or the gearbox falls off, the aftermarket exhaust has no impact on them fixing my car......

There are a few threads on the UK mustang forum, where Ford UK have emphasised that aftermarket, exhausts, wheels, suspension etc will have no effect on unrelated warranty claims..

They're not keen on ECU & air box mods though, now they could cause trouble down the line......

Glad to hear Ford are being reasonable, hope they stick to that down the line.

I think a 5.0l Mustang would go well with my Capri 280....

Are these exhausts like push fit plumbing fittings cos it only took a couple of mins ,sounds well mind

Put the deposit down on this today, to be serviced and ready for next week. With only 1500 each of the B7 RS4 saloons and the estates sold in the UK, the supply of decent low mileage cars seems to be drying up, so I thought I'd either get one now or never. Today was the day!

Thanks! My father in law used to have an Avant in dark blue, which was lovely. I prefer the saloon, but would've been happy with either as long as it was the right condition and spec. After looking at a few, this one ended up being only 7 miles from me, so I think it was meant to be. Silver wasn't my first choice, but everything else is so spot on with this one that I think I'll happily live with the colour.

Ha ha decisions decisions I was debating between a watch or a 90s convertible for summertime fun. In my opinion both can be good investments.

Think the watch has won though

Seeing as the car is run in, I thought it'd be rude not to have taken it to Santa Pod with Pistonheads on Sunday..

    With a full tank of fuel and a full boot, I managed a 12.9 second 1/4 @ 109.6mph with a 1.9 second time to 60 feet.

Had I been less mechanically sympathetic and carrying less weight, I reckon there's at least half a second to be gained. Plus I suspect the engine will loosen up with some more miles on it.

I had one of these a good while ago, check for coke build up as it's a pain (and expensive) to rectify.

    A good test is -

Under full acceleration there should be a noticeable pull at or around 5200rpm

I've seen some produce really poor BHP on rolling roads with coke issues.

There is a very knowledgable chap on here, MR2 if I recall, he knows a lot more than me.

Sadly, having FSI (and direct injection in general) engines decoked is just one of those service things required every few years. I can live with that. RS specialists quote about £450-£600, while Audi tend to want triple that. Not much else to be done, especially as the engine is otherwise pretty bombproof.

A friend of mine had one of those.

It was a nice little car, but got rattly quickly and she didn't keep it that long.

She bought a BMW coupe after that she liked better, she tells me.

    The Big White Cat...

For the past 2 months & circa. 4000 miles it has been the new XF

It really does waft along effortlessly - the ride & 8 speed auto box are superb for long drives.
(although the interior fit & finish isn't quite up there with Audi / BMW / Merc)

On the other hand - it's nearly 5m long, and pretty wide - so it's a bit of a bugger to park - even with the sensors

Leased this recently. 335d xdrive GT. Marmite body shape, much better in reality as it happens, but simply too good of a deal to turn down. Goes like stink!!

Used to love the G60 Corrado I had around 10 years ago. It was scarily quick and used to make a fantastic sound , especially after I took it to Jabbasport for them to work their magic on it.

Still a Volkswagen man but these days it's something a bit more family friendly (not my pic).

    Cheers

Bog standard E92 335d - Space Grey & Coral Red leather. I'll pop a pic up later but I think you all know what a E92 looks like by now.

Mine's a hybrid Auris designed for wafting along which is my preferred driving mode these days. Wouldn't have touched one with a barge pole 20 years ago - but they didn't exist then anyway.

    What do you drive?

Summer wheels back on with new tires (MPSS). Have a 4 day road trip coming up next week which picks out some of the best roads in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, with a stop built in to see Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece, Fallingwater. Bring it on

Tweaks on car include Bilstein coil overs, RSS semi-solid engine mounts and Tubi exhaust.
