    Obvious really innit.

Or provides a step for parkour practitioners to do a run up, jump on the bonnet then flip up over the roof.

Given I washed this Saturday morning and drove 60 miles on salty but dry motorways mainly to visit a uni friend.

I was rather annoyed at the overnight rainfall making the salt spray a really joy on the return journey this morning.

Intrigued that the centre cap and calliper escaped the salt bath. Cheeky bit of low pressure washing this afternoon & will snow foam it once the storm has passed.

I hate anything I drive having a salt bath.

It really is only missing everything you can’t see. Plus wheels.

    Sooooooo, maybe a week?

My dad's been restoring My Karmann Ghia back in Uganda. Took it from here when I moved back and have subsequently moved back to England! Still needs a fair bit of work to get it all done but the hard parts have largely been completed.
Anyway will hopefully bring it back to England at some point. Idea was to make it sort of race resto in a Panamericana theme. Got some bits and bobs to go on and complete the look.

Was recklessly, needlessly tagged at Brands Hatch, first lap of first race of last season. Car torn apart. Me in med centre for an hour. 6 months physio/pilates. Just two weeks before it was due at Member’s Meeting.

Wow sounds terrible! Glad to see you are still here to tell the tale. Look forward to seeing more progress.
Do you have a more in depth build thread somewhere?

If I'd spec a new 911, Oslo blue would be my PTS choice!

Nothing fancy or clean - it’s just the original black interior with the aluminium

I love the Mk1 M2. They got it just right, which I can't really say for the new one.

Complete agreement here. The new one just appears to be slab sided and really rather ugly. I know it’s a BMW trend to do that currently, but the new M2 just seems to manage it more.

They get uglier by the generation - kidney grills has become gaping mouth grills!

I really, really like the one above and would have had one instead of my M135i xdrive last year but I needed a hatchback. The new M2 looks awful,, even before the comparison

Nice!, how do you find it coming from the 240i? I have a 240i and the switch has always been tempting. I do DD mine, which is currently on 90k, so doing high mileage has always put me off the move.

The M2 is used as daily drive, but my work is fairly close.
Performance wise is fairly close, mpg is noticeably worse in the m2. Money wise was a fairly big difference, but I love the look of the m2 and I am always turning around when parked etc. Financially it probably makes little sense making the change, but I am pleased I did !

It has hampered my watch buying though!

    I do about 70 miles a day in my M2 comp-mostly motorway.
    Averages 28MPG
Put it this way I take an interest in fuel prices.

If you turn and look after parking, finances don't come into it at all.

My Z4C was always the one I looked back at the most until my Cayman, its a great feeling.

I was behind a brand new 911 Turbo coming out of Costco earlier and I could have followed the guy home just to stare at it for longer. Was doing man maths for a Cayman or older 911 the whole way home.

Only time I ever look back at either Tesla is to see if the mirrors are folded so I know it’s locked.

The rear end of the 992 Turbo looks so aggressive. I remember thinking how much more aggressive the 991 looked than the 997, but now they both look so elegant compared to the brutish 992.

Because there was SO much love last time... thought I'd share a pic of what I'm using this week. This one is a very low and early chassis numbered version of the Grenadier Utility Wagon, Trialmaster, petrol in Eldoret blue. It has the KO2 tyres which made this local byway as easy as climbing a kerb in Chelsea.

I had a M235i with the N55 engine and can confirm that they are a little worse on fuel than the B58 found in the 240i. The B58 is also better on fuel than the S55 found in the M2 Comp

The S58 in the M3/M4 and now current M2 is very economical though and on par with the B58 i feel
