The one glitch was a "requires attention but safe to drive" message that flashed up one evening when parking. It disappeared after a few miles the next day and a swift fly by my local dealership showed nothing on the computer.
It carries my 3 kids and gf with all the associated paraphernalia, and every journey feels special.
I would totally recommend, especially after 6 years in JLR tackle.

    Thanks for the Macan info.

I have a test drive booked in for a used Macan S D with some nice extras at an OPC tomorrow afternoon...

Looks quite nice there. Colour looked awful and garish in all the pics before this but that's actually quite nice.

Biggest shame with G Wagens is lack of keyless. Can't imagine having a car in 2019 or spending that amount of money and having to put a key in each time to start it. So retro.

    Thats the one!
    Mk3 GTi 16v for me....

...until I crashed it, accumulated 9 points on my licence in less than a month and moved to the lovely Borough of Hackney. My insurance went from £400/year to £4k/year.

    Glad you like the colour.
Funnily enough, I think the MY20 does have Keyless Go. Not sure though.

I’ve asked for my new car to have the keyless switched off. Utterly pointless, makes the car easier to steal too

New cars/keys will come with motion detection. If the key has been still for 3 mins etc the wireless signal from the key will turn off and relay theft isn't possible.

Not sure about other cars but on Mercedes after you lock the car you can hit the lock button on the key again twice and it turns off keyless totally meaning the next time you use the car the unlock button must be pushed on the key first. I always do this at home overnight but when out and about in town just lock using keyless as normal.

Thanks. The colour suited me much better than the plethora of wannabe black and WAG grey cars - as a self-appointed wise person once said somewhere on here.

What an absolute beast. Seen them in black, chrome, and even full gold (living in Middle East), but never that colour. You must be thrilled with it

^^Very nice. Would like to see some interior photos when you collect it.

On the bonnet, are those lights or indicators?

Only one interior pic, from the detailer.

The lights on top of the wings are indicators. To help guide your way!

Rather like my 992 - great sports car - unlike my pictures which are pretty poor

Yes, went a bit mad with the spec for a C2S, but having had ceramics on my previous GT3 there was no contest.

I have to say, I disliked the pic earlier of the bright green one, but the actual photo of your one in that colour is stunning................I could even be tempted to swap my freelander in for one of those!!

Picked up this smart roadster brabus xclusive yesterday as a fun 12-18 month fun car until I get something more serious (m2 comp, Lexus RCF etc). I love the looks and it is surprisingly well specced (auto wipers and lights, heated seats, cruise control etc).

That is lovely and high on my list when it comes to changing early next year. What's it like to live with on a daily basis? I do 10k miles per year which isn't huge but I wonder if I should get something slightly more restrained as an all round device?

Very good but the definition of ‘petrol head’ is not fuel specific but nevertheless still a fair try.

Thanks for the kind comments Mark.

I had an M135i prior to the M2 and it was certainly the easier car to commute in with a much softer suspension set up and smooth ZF 8 speeder. Truth be told it wasn't that much slower either.

Where the M2 scores is in the visceral sense of getting in to something properly sorted every time you go for a drive. The dry weather handling is borderline ridiculous, completely flat and planted at cornering speeds which would have seen my M135i on it's roof in a ditch. It is also laughably loud for a factory standard model in sport mode. With the DCT and set in comfort though it will munch the miles very happily and play the motorway cruiser.

I have adjustable M Performance suspension on mine and modest spacers and it sits very aggressively, gratuitous pic to illustrate the stance.

Cheers for the info! Yep, what a stance - looks fab. I have been pondering an M240i but difficult finding one with a high spec as I've been spoilt by my previous cars and I think I'd regret not going the whole hog with the M2. A 440i is also on the list which might give me the best of both worlds. I've got to have another BMW straight 6 before time runs out!
