I’m pretty sure that is a Lexus interior. (At least, it’s part of the Toyota family).

I am stumped now, it looks a bit Subaru but I revise my guess to a Toyota Prado, last generation.

SJ got it first - I'm fairly sure it's a mid 2000's Toyota Highlander. Lovely condition vehicle BTW and a model that I think probably would've done well in the UK (had Toyota officially imported it!) .

The switch gear is a giveaway for Toyota/Lexus owners - the switches and indicator stalks etc in the Toyota parts bin, haven't changed much over time.

Those look a lot like Mercedes wheels, so is it some sort of GL?

Close enough, but it's actually a Toyota Kluger 2003.

Brought back from Australia 5 years ago by it's original British owner when he retired and moved back to the UK.

Grubby inside and out but mechanically sound, I've spent a fair few hours bringing it back to it's former condition and we're currently off in her touring around Cornwall.

When I said it was a rare beast here, there are currently over 39 million licenced cars in the UK - of which 17 are Toyoto Klugers...

I remember the Kluger now that you mention it Ralphy, I haven't seen one for years The car has aged very well being nearly 20 yo.

Never heard of the Kluger before now - Is it a Australia-only model?

Seems to be the same as or at least heavily based upon the Highlander.

Nice car and as already mentioned, has dated very well.

Do Australian cars have any kind of factory rust proofing?

I think the Kluger is the other name of the Highlander, depending on countries (like the Mitsubishi Shogun/Pajero)

Australia and Japan, everywhere else it was exported to it was called Highlander (although there were tiny differences between them).

No more than any other export country. I've found Toyota cars of this age to be remarkably well built overall and their rust-proofing is one example. I've had a LandCruiser and an Alphard in the past, along with several Lexus (currently got an SC430) and when I say there's been little or no rust on all them I'm not exaggerating.

The Yeti is a quarter of the age of the Kluger yet has more rust on it.

Oh. It’s just a bit of fun really trying to show what it’s actually like to look for, buy and live with the stuff I end up with. Hopefully it helped in some way.

You had some interesting info and a few things I didn't know.

....that ruddy passenger seatbelt though! lol

You need to take it for a drive and film it.

Love the 599 and am tempted to get one recently as they seem extremely good value at current prices (for a modern 12 cylinder Ferrari). I have seen them around £80-100k depending.

Keep us updated on the driving/ownership experience.

Ps love the black as opposed to the typical Rosso Corsa!

The king is dead. Long live the king.

So the F-Pace is gone, and the F-Pace is here. P400e, not exactly a sports car but 400bhp apparently with EV and petrol combined. Seems quite quick for an SUV. Pleased so far.

Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

After 5 years on TZ it was kinda inevitable...... The polar opposite, in driving experience, to the XC90.

It's actually a RHD UK auth dealer supplied car, I put the deposit down over 2 years ago with Ian Allan Motors.

Amazing. I didn't even know that was possible. Yes the value was what attracted me to them.

What's the spec and can you give me a ballpark price if you don't mind? If not no worries! I'll look into it

6.2ltr N/A mid engined, 0-60 in 2.9 secs, pop out targa top, literally EVERY conceivable electric gadget and toy you could think of, alcantara, CF and leather interior, magnetic ride suspension, 5 high def cameras and CF bucket seats, the list goes on & on & on!
    I paid £81700, I believe there is a 2&1/2 - 3 year wait list now.

Nice, sounds great. Good price too all things considered.

I got to test drive one in the US so I have sorta been hooked since. Definitely back on the menu now (despite the wife's best efforts!)

I know that MX5s are routinely ridiculed on TZ but they're fantastic little cars - lovely to drive and fun at legal speeds, especially on days like today. Happy Easter everyone

That’s only the case because some clever sod answers ‘MX5’ to any possible car question. Need a family 7-seater? MX5?

Lovely looking car and perfect weather for it. Enjoy it.
