    90% a Nissan Leaf - if i could afford a Tesla P85D I'd buy one tomorrow.
10% a Kia cee'd 1.6 eco thingy. Bought when my A6 quatro broke down for the millionth time and a 7 year warranty seemed like a good idea.
0% a modified JDM Mitsubishi GTO 3.0 twin turbo. Very fast and very broken. Should really scrap it but I love her....

My little old Audi S4 with the 4.2 V8 that I've intended posting a photo for a while but never got to it.
Just took a snap today with freshly refurbed wheels and new tyres.

The wife and kids are on holiday with the in-laws; in the morning I'm going to drive this for the first time in ages!

The only question is, will there be anywhere sunny in the north of England?

Oh how I wish I'd bought one of those a few years ago. Beautiful cars.

    Congratulations

So you díd get the Mitsubishi after all.

Quite some car it is indeed. Astonishingly advanced at the time.
Wish you many satifying miles and no points cost.

I'm now the (sort of) proud owner of a 4x4. All I need now are some rub strips down the left-hand side...

Very nice. I'd like my wife's Forester to look a bit sportier like yours. Did the previous owner add the body kit or was it a factory extra? Any mods to the engine?

I've fancied one of these ever since I had an XJR and thought it was high time I got on with it.

The previous owner, although I think I managed to prise it away from him before he added bright pink 'SCOOBY WRX' stickers down the side.

Great choice. I miss my last one, this 110 X Tech, but I have decided to get another one for here in France so that should fill the gap.

Collected this earlier today, the dealership delivered it straight to the Detailers for me with the transport wrap still on.

Congrats, but can you educate me what a detailer does with a brand-spanking new car?

When your new car arrives at the dealer it needs to be valeted inside and out. It'll have protective wax/wrap/whatever on it, stickers on the glass and so on.

And to have a quality ceramic paint sealant applied. None of that dealer applied rubbish.

But doesn't the dealer do that?

Thanks, I wanted to give the car a good start to life. The valeters at the dealership would no doubt give it a quick wash but provide nothing in the way of protection. Also, even though it's a brand new car the paintwork was not defect free, for example.

    Before

    After

Maybe I'm a little OCD when it comes to my cars paintwork, I do know it won't be going anywhere near the local hand car wash.

The dealers wouldn't dream of taking each wheel off and applying a ceramic coating inside and out with the same applied to the brake calipers.

^^^^^Great products from Gtechniq. Got Crystal Serum, Exo and C5 wheel armour on my GTR. I wouldn't trust a dealer with prepping a nice car.

Why bother with a car detailer at all when there's a hand car wash in or near most towns where you can get your car cleaned inside and out for £15. Even better, just stick it through a car wash.

Collected this yesterday, trading in my XFR. Definitely not a sensible choice, but it's certainly different.

Went on a BMW corporate day earlier in the week at Oulton Park and got the horn for doing track days again. Can't be doing with the hassle of a dedicated track car this time so have just purchased this little nipper. Should be fun.

Thanks Ralph. It's in pretty good shape and is very usable, a few things to tart up and maybe a respray in a year or two.

I've learned two things about our roads since owning the Vixen. Firstly there aren't that many places where I can really push it hard and secondly just how badly the roads have been resurfaced, with sunken ironwork everywhere. Never noticed these things in my Disco!

If you think Zummerzet is poor you shouldn’t venture down our way. In particular, the B-roads are being left to disintegrate & they are doing so rapidly: worst pot-holes and more of them than I can ever recall, we’ve gone past troublesome and into dangerous now. :-(

Devon CC have a wizzy ‘report a pothole’ website where you can show the exact location of the problem but they don’t seem to do anything when you use it, a particularly bad one has been registered by many people since the beginning of this year yet it’s still there and getting worse. I have heard that one-third of their annual repair budget is now getting spent on damage claims by motorists...

    R

PS On a more positive note, the better time to be 'pressing on’ is when the hedges have lost their foliage and been cut back: much better visibility on the bends. ;-)
