No definitive answer - 'cause long goes over and short goes under.
A few folk have said to me it 'has to be 'under,I am an over man myself.
Just incase you dont know what I mean:
Over

I'm an over as long as it's long enough.
No real need for me to vote, but I'm an under :)
Under every time :)

Over at the moment on my PRS17C because the strap is long enough to tuck under both keepers but short ends go under.
Seem to recall reading somewhere that the miltary rule is to fold over.
I've never had a NATO reach the second hoop.Originally Posted by soapy
NATOs vary in length. My Maratac Desert Tan is a good half inch longer than the TF 'Bond' and ,as we all know, a half inch makes a lot of difference.Originally Posted by stoneyloon

I hope you dont mind me pinching your photo :DOriginally Posted by Jonmurgie
Always over for me, there is always too much spare to tuck it under for me, the loop at the end ends up being too big
sorry to do this chaps, but i can't see any difference between the 2 pics! Where am i going wrong??
Over = see the tail, as in folded over itselfOriginally Posted by ghosty
Under = dont see the tail as in tucked back under itself
Does that make sense?
Under imho....I couldn't think that there could be any other way.
maratacs are the perfect length for itOriginally Posted by stoneyloon

Over is the way to go! Especially when they start to fall apart :)
Under here.
I think under just looks cleaner.
 natos are my favorite straps but wtf are you lot on about here?
Whether to tuck the tail over or under  ... they sound anal to me ... and they should stick it where the sun don't shine. Like in Alaska or something. :blackeye: :lol:Originally Posted by Karl

Wearing the buckle at 6 is "the correct way" as it puts less stuff "on the outside" to catch on things.

Ex-military type here, so it's got to be over, with the buckle at 12.
Still got my issue G10 too (write off...) though sadly a quartz; if only I knew then what I know now ('Gulf accounting').
U is for under.
I find it better over but I like my TSS NATO as it just makes the 2nd metal loop so it just sits there. I am wondering whether to cut the other NATO straps to match.
under for me...
under for me...but i'm a zulu man myself :D !!!
Under for me, as there is no part flapping around and getting damaged. And I wear my strap the other way around - the buckle on the '6' side of the watch and the long end on '12' - that way the whole bundle of buckle-and-rings does not get in the way when I put my arm on a table or wherever (think crawling on the ground, military style). There is also less chance of it snagging. And I cut off the second part, or buy an RAF version, so I can center the buckle and make it sit closer to my wrist.
Anyway: under.

But I've also heared that the strap should be looped on the inside of the wrist and not on the outside like us normal people, can anyone varify this, and if so for what reason.
ive just started wearing mine like this and its a revelation, seems much more tidyOriginally Posted by Karl
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Under, as I find it neater :)
Agreed, but I've also just discovered I much prefer Zulu/Rhino RAF/2 ring style.Originally Posted by seikopath

Me too. Never thought about doing it until I saw it mentioned in this thread. Now I have it just feels correct.Originally Posted by seikopath
