You could probably date it a little more closely by the movement serial number but apart from that you have said it all Eddie.
Its just another w.w.w.
It belongs to a customer who's not on the forum and he's seeking information. I think it's probably 1946-52 and has had a War Department redial. Other than that, I know not a lot so anybody else got anything to add?

Hi Eddiehas had a War Department redial
Are you saying the MOD did the redial ? I'm not saying they didn't, but it's the first of this style I've seen. I'd be interested in a movement shot too, if you have one.
Cheers

It's just that the redial is so crudely done I couldn't imagine anybody else doing it unless it's a DIY job. I don't have physical possession of the watch Foggy so can't take a movement shot.

Eddie

I have no idea what I am talking about as vintage mil-watches are greek to me, but to my layman's eye the dial and the lume application are two different jobs altogether. Perhaps it was only re-lumed in the MoD pattern, without being properly redialed?
Any comments about the excessive length of the minute and second hands, or would that be o.k. for a WWW?

If you give them the case, cal and movement they will date it and give model online .
If you contact them they will give fuller information and where the watch was originally sold.
a very good service for checking fakes.
Give it a try with any omega
All the best
Ian
Unfortunately, as far as I aware, Omega is no longer providing this service. I'm led to believe that they now only provide this info when watches are sent in for repair/restoration. I hope this isn't the case, but I have heard it from a number of sources.
Cheers

I heard the same thing Foggy. It is a shame as it was a wonderful service.Originally Posted by Foggy
