Well done and a great watch, but you might want to correct that! A bit confusing. :?Originally Posted by jfb1977

I've lusted after this watch since I saw it announced at Basel and I've finally got one. It's a perfect companion for my Breitling Super Avenger, which (whilst not to everyone's taste due to it's size) is a cracking jeans and t-shirt watch and the Rolex just works brilliantly with a suit.
Chuffed.
Will add some propoer pics soon, but here's a snap I grabbed on my BlackBerry.
And for prosperity, a snap of the B'ling SA, very different watches, but that's the point....

What a lovely pair.
I'm sure you'll both be very happy together. I was the same with my GMT C, at least until I sold it.
But every time I see a great shot like that I want to go back again.
Wis'ng hell  !
P.S. Thats a pretty good shot for Blackberry camera.
Very nice, congratulations. If I ever make the jump to Rolex the GMTIIC would be the one I would get.
Lovely, congrats!
great set ... quite jealous ...
Enjoy!!
Congratulations on the 116710LN, it´s the mutts nuts! I´ve just about saved up 2/3 of the price of one myself, won´t be long now!
Congratulations it is always nice when lust is sated :D
Excellent choice, had mine a fortnight now, nothing else is getting a look-in.
It strikes me as one watch that ticks all the boxes
Very nice, a truly classy watch.
Congrats - excellent choice!
Now go and get some wabi on those polished centre links :D
That's a great picture off the Blackberry :thumbright:
Congrats 8)
"I looked with pity not untinged with scorn upon these trivial-minded passers-by"
The best sports Rolex in production IMHO
Congrats on your first Rolex... things of beauty aren't they :D
No idea what you're on about Skyman...?! :wink:Originally Posted by Skyman

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I'm delighted with the watch...I had never really been turned on by Rolexes, always preferring Brieltings and Omega but the ceramic bezel on the GMT changed that!Originally Posted by Jonmurgie
Have seen that some people aren't big fans of the PCLs, but I love them personally, won't be having them brushed.
However, I am toying with the idea of having the sapphire replaced with a non-cyclops version. I know the cyclops can be removed, but on the GMTII-C there's a non reflective coating and if you remove the cyclops it leaves a mark.
Anyone got any shots of this watch without the cyclops?

Congrats on a great watch! If I ever save enough money to buy a Rolex, this will be the one for me. Never got the hype for pepsis and rootbeers, for me this one is the best.
Lovely piece if its for first brilliant way to break the Rolex virginity.
I love mine.

I'm with you on the PCL's remind me of my TAG 2000 seriesOriginally Posted by jfb1977
I dont get this removing the cyclops business, surely the cyclops is all part of the Rolex look
THAT is a beauty - can i ask how much they are please?
It is SO much nicer than a lot of watches i own..... may cash them in and just go for the one beauty (gulp... :? )
Congratulations!!! Great choice.
Enjoy!

I couldn't have put it better myself. The GMT is a suit watch, which is why I am reluctantly selling mine as I never wear suits (weddings and funerals is about it) I am now looking for a cracking casual watch , that also has real flair. Lets face it, no one wants to spend a load on a watch that doesn't looks the nuts!Originally Posted by jfb1977
A work colleague of mine wears the same model as a beater! We work in the print and work with lots of machinery. It still looks like its holding up well considering the abuse it must get. Just a few scratches!Originally Posted by 640Samuel

Very nice watch congatulations.
Whereas I'm in a suit every day, so it makes a lot of sense. The Super Avenger never quite looked right under a suit...always a little too large and blingy, but the GMT is subtle enough and the right size to work (even with the shiny bezel).Originally Posted by 640Samuel
Now just need to replace the Omega PO that I had (and that I still miss!), add a PAM104 and a Cartier Santos XL Chrono to the pile and I'm done....maybe......
Lovely watch! The ceramic bezel really sets it apart from the rest IMO. And the little dash of green makes it look super 8)
May I ask how wide the B-ling is? Is that the mahoosive 50mm one? Doesn't the Roller seem tiny after the clock-watch? ;)
The SA is a tiny 49mm....nowhere near 50mm!! Heh heh.Originally Posted by mr noble
There's no denying the B'ling is a big watch...but that's exactly why I bought it....I wanted a big watch.
They make a lovely couple I think!
A bit big for me, but I certainly agree that they make a very pretty couple.
Now you just need a Speedmaster and a G-Shock and you're sorted for a collection :)
PO and a Panerai and you're getting close...Originally Posted by mr noble
Congrats to the first RLX  I would definitely prefer it the Breitling
congrats, a classic
Cracking watch...I've had mine for about 6 months now! Bezel is great.
Don't want to put a downer on things but...
I had mine for 2 days and the ceramic bezel insert fell out (through no fault of my own). Read about 2-3 other people who have had the same fault. Not many out of the thousands sold, I know!
Must say, ROLEX UK were fantastic. Replaced insert and returned watch within 10 days. No charge made whatsoever. Would not have been happy if they had tried to me a charge!
All the best.
Looks great. Congratulations.... but I have one question...
How many times do you think you looked at it on its first day on your wrist?
I remember some twenty odd years ago almost getting RSI with my new Submariner!
Weird....I dreamt about this happening...I have issues, I know.Originally Posted by 116520

It's a strange feeling though, as I said I've lusted after this watch for over 3 years, and when I picked it up, the watch was as stunning as I knew it would be, however after a couple of days I can't shake the feeling that "it's just a watch..." - don't get me wrong, I LOVE it, but when all is said and done, it IS just a watch. I feel a little deflated, like the chase was better than the 'kill' if you know what I mean.
Maybe I just need to find something else to lust after....
That's exactly how I felt after I got my GMTIIC. I put it down to the huge price tag :?
After the bank balance had crept up a bit I felt all the better towards it.
The GMTIIC really is a versatile watch and is hard to top, as you will no doubt find over the coming weeks/months. Be prepared to rekindle your love affair.
Congratulations, on both watches :)
really lovely watch mate.
I came over all GMT a couple of weeks ago, could quite stretch to the ceramic though.
Congratulations on a stunning watch! And I'm in agreement with others that they do indeed make a great pair (and I'm not really a Breitling kind of guy ). Enjoy :)
a true future classic IMHO and the best choice from the current range apart from maybe a Daytona panda dial 8)
enjoy it hopefully you have worked out how to set the 24 hour hand

If it were £480 rather than £4800 then you'd love it in a different way.
I think that once the bank balance has re-inflated again and the list price has gone up, you'll be crazy about the thing ;)
You could always sell it to me though ;)
Heh heh...don't get me wrong, I do love it and I'm glad I bought it. I guess you build these things up in your mind to be more than they are, and maybe the realisation of any dream isn't quite as exciting as the dream itself. Jeez....I've gone all philosophical and beard strokey....time for a pub lunch... :D
Once saved up some pennies this is definitely one for consideration. Lovely looking watch.
I'm not that big into Rolex but this one is stunning, love the bezel and green GMT hand, congrats!
The Rolex looks great. One to add to the wish list.
I too bought my first Rolex the other day.
I went for one of these as I am a scientist
I am happy with it
:)
Lovely.
Enjoy :)
I'm saving up for a replacement, I miss mine already... :D :roll:Originally Posted by medmondson
