So close, and yet so far ... :(

I was wondering when you will be round ... The colour of the hands and indices don't match either ... :twisted:Originally Posted by Crusader

I didn't notice the color mismatch when the watch was discussed on WUS a couple of days ago, but I may have lacked attention to detail there for a minute ... there are so many B-Uhren replicas about. Goes for the Vollmer/Aristo, too. I find it difficult to get excited about these modified replicas (this one has a screw down crown).Originally Posted by abraxas
Maybe we should all wait for the Lange B-Uhren replica. :D

What's the point? We won't be able to afford it, anyway. :(Originally Posted by Crusader

Yes, but I would consider it hopeless to choose a B-Uhren replica if I wanted one, now ... too many models about. some get the hands right, others the handwound/hacking movement, others the crown, the lugs ...Originally Posted by abraxas
I am glad that I am not a B-Uhren fan - I'd be in deep trouble.
Just learned today that Bill Yao's next case will be an asymmetric homage to the Benrus Types I/II ... and I haven't received the modified Seiko even yet.
Sometimes less is more. When I was looking for a simple aviation watch (crystal secured and antimagnetic protection), there were only two models: Omega Dynamic Date and Sinn 656. Now we have the Sinn 657, 856, and two Damaskos lined up ...

Looks similar to this:
That's pretty much the movement I'm using, except the "-4" indicates the date mechanism. It is a 11 1/2 ligne, so it's going to be pretty lonely in the middle of that case. :(Originally Posted by abraxas

I am dying to see a piccy of it ... remember the Stowa  ? No wonder the writer of the report 'likes the move' of the seconds hands ... it must 2 seconds behind the movement, pulling itself to slow death.Originally Posted by rfrazier

Also, it is 18000 bph, so with that radius to cover, you get to see the ticks pretty clearly. Almost like a quartz watch. ;)Originally Posted by abraxas

Having said everything I said, I'd still like to see it.

I saw this watch at the Azimuth shop here in Singapore, honestly I don't find it very appealing. And anyways its too big for my wrist.
I have never seen or heard of this brand in my life so I decided to go in and take a look at their watches. They were only o.k. looking, IMHO none of the watches there caught my attention.
I saw one that was decent looking and decided to ask about the brand and movements they used. The sales person told me that it was owned by a Singaporean and most of the watches are made in Germany. Movements from eta, their own movement and of course the fontainemelon. I don't think they use sapphire crystal which is a let down for me.
Its a relatively new brand, just started in December '04 or something.
