Similar vein Gilad Atzmon's The Wandering Who...an enlightening examination of Israeli/Jewish identity politics, Zionism.
Published last year so doesn’t include the current conflict, but an interesting read from the perspective of a New York Jewish person.
I read the history of Hamas a couple of weeks ago and it’s surprising how much of the background is exactly the same.

I just re read Micheal Herr's "Dispatches" which I first read at school,
Superb Book
Currently reading The hardest day about the single toughest day in the Battle of Britain.
Has a great resonance to me as it is mostly centred around Kenley and Biggin Hill with local roads highlighted where aircraft came down that I know well.
A brilliant forensic read.
Cheers,
Neil.
The Secret Hours was quite good - Heron is no Deighton, very cartoonish on the opposite end of the spectrum from Fleming, but fun enough.
