Excellent. I've not seen this one before.
I think you're on the right track, but I'd go for something stronger, like Superglue. Once the screw has been extracted, you can use acetone to separate the driver from the screw.
They probably just swap the movement, which is fine with me. A new movement is as good or better than a freshly-serviced movement.
Beautiful car!
I wonder if that could more easily be removed chemically.
I'm no brandy connoisseur, but Hennessy VSOP tastes good to me.
The Columbia SH/FT™ ("shift", I guess) OutDry™ Sneaker Boot is excellent. I did about a dozen miles of hiking on wet leaves and moss-covered rocks in southern Vermont a few weeks ago. I didn't slip,...
I doubt it needs 1300 turns per day. 1300 turns is probably enough to fully wind it from a stopped condition.
Given that the watch probably has a power reserve of ~48 hours (to make the math...
My greyhound (RIP) was so traumatized by fireworks that I would do my best to take her for a ride in the car if I knew there was going to be a fireworks display. Oddly enough, she was not bothered by...
Mmm! Is that New-York-style sidewalk custard?

Does anyone know if the strap that ships with the SPB153 is available for sale? The Seiko part number...
What are the odds he stumbles upon this thread?
There must be a complete lack of introspection and/or a warped sense of entitlement. In other words, "I've been dealt a bad hand, so it's OK to steal a little from those who were dealt a better...
Is it too late to ask for tons of photos and insist on a face-to-face meeting? The former will eat up tons of his time as he searches the web for images.
People who frequent these forums are watch enthusiasts. There is no logic to it. It's a bit of fun, nothing more.
You're right, and you're right to be angry. Next he's going to tell us that the Swatch Group has some parts made for them in China!
I don't think anyone is suggesting an Omega is a Swatch or a Bugatti is a Volkswagen. Seems pretty clear to me.
I've never examined a 6105-8000 crown, but I am familiar with the 6105-8110/6105-8119 crown sealing system. I'm assuming they're similar in that there is an o-ring fitted inside the crown retained by...
Seiko tends not to mention amplitude in their service guides. That said, I'd say if you're >= 200° in all six positions, you're in pretty good shape.
It's always best to have it gone over by a...
You're joking, right?

Exactly. This is why the aftermarket SELs made for the Seiko 7S26-0020 (SKX007 and similar) that use the "fat" Seiko spring bars protrude past the lugs.
I, too, don't see the need for the "fat"...
The Mk. II Blackwater MMT is quite thin. You'll have to pick one up second-hand, as it's no longer in production.
Best wishes,

Here's a safe and easy method to accurately set the seconds hand on a stopped watch (with non-"hacking" movement). When the seconds on your reference clock reaches where the seconds hand on your...
What a senseless act. If I live to be 1000, I still won't understand what could motivate someone to kill and maim the innocent.
When I left New York City for the Boston area two years ago, I...
I, too, have a smallish wrist (6.75"), and the Seiko 8L35-0010 Marine Master fits like a glove. It's a big watch. It's a bit long lug-to-lug, but the lugs curve downward and hug the wrist.
Best...
Yes, chock-full of hops and plenty stong! My kind of beer.
Best wishes,
