The dial font, w/o circle CWC logo and bezel are not really the same.
These watches are interesting cos very limited background information.
It should have fixed bars but I did see some samples have the bars removed.

All Smiths Deluxe that I have handled are all with flanged crystals and I view that Smiths Deluxe case has similar construction like JLC or IWC MK XI. In fact, I feel that the dust cover is close to...
Both watches are very rare but to me the 1016 (if not viewing the case back) is same as other 1016 while this Military Explorer has both dial and caseback look very different from the production one....
