Rosebank is amazing, but pretty hard to find. I tried a Connoisseur's Choice (poss. 18 yo) and it's the only lowland whisky that's really impressed me. I've always felt they're a bit lacking (dare I...

That's quite a stash you have there :drunken:
I worked in the wine/whisky trade for 6 or so years and people often used to ask "which one's the best?". I always said that there isn't one, but...
Just read on another forum that Sainsburys has 20% off their whole range of whisky. Might just be in Scotland though. Not sure on the ordinary pricing but sounds like it might be a good deal :)
That's quite a well made video, but it looks like quite an interesting crowd they're playing to
Interested to see what you think of the Tassie whisky. We've got a friend from there who...
Will do, same to you!
Not tried anything French yet, I've been concentrating on wine. Will keep an eye out for Eddu Gold - shame the distillery's in Brittany, as that's a bit far for a visit.

actually, to a certain extent i agree there, i wonder if it's because quarter cask has spoiled us! i've often wondered whether the standard 10 would be more of a beast if it wasn't chill filtered....
PS I saw Scapa 16yo on offer in the supermarket the other day for €34   Is it to early for a Christmas present to myself?
Good list Jon 8) . Glad to see you enjoyed the Benriach :)
Interesting choice for your favourite - I agree it's a cracker, and in fact I'm digging young whisky in general. The Resurrection Dram...
Welcome to the forum. If your  is directed at my everyday choice, it's not actually a whisky I drink every day, just that it's a whisky priced around the bottom of the malt market (ignoring...
My favourite everyday Speyside :drunken: not too sweet, and perfectly balanced. Glad to hear you're still enjoying the malts, my choice is a bit more limited now I'm out here :(
Bulleit is def. worth a try :thumbright:
McPhails do some really good bottlings. They're Independant Bottlers (for example, standard Glenfiddich with the normal label is a distillery bottling and is a blend of hundreds/thousands of casks...
Talking of Grouse I've had this in the cupboard for quite a few years. No idea where it came from, and I think it's just the standard tipple with a different label. Either way though, Grouse I reckon...
Maker's Mark is good stuff (Woodford Reserve is pretty good too though). It sounds like you're knocking off the good ones :) . Bulleit Bourbon is also very definitely worth a try :drunken:
Edited...

This^. I tried the Amrut Fusion last week and it's very good indeed :drunken:
I would've said you're better off with a supermarket own brand malt. There's a few good ones about. Glen Moray as Jon said is a bit thin and spirity. Not a bad whisky, but not far off if you get my...
Not sure about supermarkets but I reckon something like Clynelish is a good bet. Or maybe Oban. For the Lowland whisky Auchentoshan is the only triple distilled example in Scotland so bit smoother...
Glad you liked it :)

Scary isn't it   . It just vanishes :drunken:
Glad you liked it :)
We had some friends round the other night and we shared a bottle of Benriach Curiositas 10yo. It's amazing :drunken: ! One of the most impressive whiskies I've had for quite some time. It's a peated...
How're you getting on with the Glenlivet? It's 21yo Benromach for me tonight :drunken:
Good shout with the Macallan, although the original version is getting harder to find as everyone's selling the Fine Oak these days.
Def. slurp one of the Ardbegs as they're never going to be...
Was my birthday the other day and a couple of my brothers and my sister-in-law chipped in and bought me a bottle of Ardbeg MOR. It's 4.5 litres  . I didn't know they even made malt whisky in...
'87 Lagavulin Dist. Edition for me last night. Very tasty :drunken:
