But these have gained in popularity in recent times, they were a fair bit cheaper on the 2nd hand market not so very long ago.

I’d say that is very fair as I have had recent offers for mine not too far away from that figure.

Felt exactly the same.
But over time it won me over. Problem was that by that time it was long discontinued, had to wait a fair while before an opportunity to get one presented itself.
