For just another opinion, I would suggest Explorer I 36 mm or the Aqua Terra 38,5 mm 8500 caliber. Both very nice and versatile watches from my point of view.
But you will make the final choice...

I wore my Submariner 16800 every day between 2008 and 2012 when I sold it and I was pretty comfortable about it. Needles to say that the watch had its share of knocks, small marks, etc.
But...

Most accurate until now for me is IWC Mark XVI +0/ per day if I wear her during the day and the resting position at night is crown down.

Now I am of course more relaxed about the whole watches' accuracy phenomenon :-).

Out of my experience:
IWC mark XV bought from AD ran out of the box aprox. + 1 sec crown down.
A new IWC mark XVI bought from a private seller was running a little fast out (+3/ +6 in...
The Panerai looks a little big if you compare her to your other watches, but she balances your collection in my opinion :-).
