Thats lovely! And its becoming a thing with me at the moment that older submariners have the - what would it be called? coin edge? I forget - aligned correctly with the pip at 12 o clock, where more...
There was always a little known half link for the bracelet. It really helped.
Im going to agree here - the gen 1 ATs just look "right" great proportions and size and the dials dont suffer from the later Omega textures that, to me, look like the fake wood on model train...
A friend has just messaged me asking if I could suggest anybody who could repair the bracelet on his mothers gold lady datejust. From his description it sounds like bracelet stretch.
Ive told him...
I cannot pretend to have known him well but he was, by all accounts, a great guy and an important contributor to this wonderful community.
My deepest condolences to his family and all who knew him....
I dont normally commit to threads like this, but this is probably the most accurate post. Note my use of "probably".
There seems to be an opinion out there that a watch head should completely fill your wrist. Not the case - in fact, wearing a watch that does often feminises the wrist of the person wearing it -...
I would say that obstinance - when defined as a "stubborn refusal to change ones opinion or course of action, despite attempts to persuade one to do so" has led to victory on a great many occasions.
Ive tried one on bracelet and think it looks really very good. The dial is stunning in the flesh.
Also, and I know it could be argued that no luxury goods are reasonably priced, but I think its...
Well, the exchange of rings is a relatively new thing as things go - traditionally only the woman had a ring - and Im not going to go down the route of why that was...

Well, I said "hats off" to Omega when I tried on the ultra deep at a recent event.
Im going to say the same to rolex for this offering. Its not about looks obviously - but about achievement - and...
Ah... this one!
I have been attacked so many times on various forums for saying how hideous this watch is... im glad that, over time, it seems people are generally in agreement.
Terrible to make an outing with that "rare" ... IF its got anything to do with its "value".
But times are crazy, and we all know it takes a degree of bravery to just wear and enjoy a SS rolex...
Im seriously impressed by that job!
So... rolex wont laser weld, but replace the whole case? Did I read that right?
If so, I think Im going down the laser weld route before I send my 116600...
Ah, sorry - l meant the "expedition" one, which is now sold out and was limited to two per customer... that one!
My mistake!
Really nice watch though.
I was picking my planet ocean up from its service at Omega in Manchester today and got talking to a really good bloke and regular customer who was wearing the smiths everest special edition watch,.

Perfect anti snob lotion!

My SD40k is due a service and Im happy to pay for any necessary part replacements - but Im very curious to hear feedback from owners with regard to case refinishing.
Its a massive thing on forums...
To me, a watch is a machine... like a car, or a plane, or even an electric drill.
If someone asked me if I wanted my car to be good as new after a service Id say "yes" - especially if I chose it...
Thats a very good shout. Good looking thing for a fair price.
So, a longines is an omega with a different badge? Like a skoda is a volkswagen?
My planet ocean is no breguet - the moonSWATCH is no omega. It just dresses up as one...
Again though - people...
Well, I DID say they "shouldnt" think they owned an actual Omega - not that they wouldnt think that.
At the end of the day its a swatch - made by swatch, in a swatch factory, with swatch...
Im going to say that its most definitely, first and foremost, a swatch.
Its disposable, colourful and plastic. And, despite the omega branding bumping the price up, its fairly cheap.
It most...
This always makes me laugh too. And the people who see themselves as the most impervious are generally those most influenced.
