Hi all, I've had a PRS-5 since 2008. The original crystal began to crack after 18 months or so, so I got another one from Eddie ... and it cracked straight away. I'm now on the fourth crystal. Eddie...

    Re: Interesting Rolex read!

absurdly over-written, and clearly by a one-eyed Rolex fan: would have been much more interesting to have a 'drier', more balanced article covering the same topics.

Re: I spy with my little eye

a quick and none too good phone pic, but I think the new Smiths is looking good on plain black buffalo; whereas the thick, stitched strap that came with the Smiths is better suited to a chunkier...

    Re: New Arrival - PRS-29B Smiths 39mm

number 019 has arrived in Australia!

It looks lovely -- and will be a great match to the Smiths dials in the dashboard of my 1969 Daimler ;)

Re: I spy with my little eye

PRS29-B number 019 has arrived safely in Australia!

My immediate thoughts are that the NATO -- while darker than Eddie's earlier very silvery ones -- is still a bit light. The leather straps look...

Re: Expected accuracy of 70s chronograph?

my 6138 is one of my most accurate vintage watches -- I haven't timed it precisely in terms of secs/day but it runs for days on end and never seems to be more than a minute off.
  15. Re: My 1968 Rolex Date, Oyster Perpetual Chronometer

Get the movement serviced so it runs as well as it can, and it could do with a new crystal, perhaps, but please don't get it 'over-restored'! If it's stood you so well for all those years, don't...

  21. new arrival: Ollech & Wajs 'Sport' chrono -- what mov't?

my latest eBay impulse buy turned up this morning. It's an Ollech & Wajs 'Sport' chrono that I would date as late 1960s? It's 37mm or so, 18mm lugs, quite thick front to back. It has a thin, domed...
  22. Re: What do you wear your MM300 on? and another question...

it's not an MM300, but I like my 7002-based Franken-Seiko on a 'Lumpy' bracelet, as sold by Sydney-based eBay dealer Watchadoo: really well-made, chunky bracelet; easy to re-size.
