absurdly over-written, and clearly by a one-eyed Rolex fan: would have been much more interesting to have a 'drier', more balanced article covering the same topics.
I assume it's buffalo: it says 'Piel Karabu' on the back (made by Dilox in Spain, oh, and 'Antialergico' too!) ...
a quick and none too good phone pic, but I think the new Smiths is looking good on plain black buffalo; whereas the thick, stitched strap that came with the Smiths is better suited to a chunkier...

my 6138 is one of my most accurate vintage watches -- I haven't timed it precisely in terms of secs/day but it runs for days on end and never seems to be more than a minute off.
Get the movement serviced so it runs as well as it can, and it could do with a new crystal, perhaps, but please don't get it 'over-restored'! If it's stood you so well for all those years, don't...
