Haven’t they now stopped finishing the movement as well? I was tempted by one recently but reports of a drop in quality put me off.

Personally I find the prices have put a halt to my purchasing....

Yes, my spending is conditionally under review, although it’s more from a value-for-money point of view than anything else.

I don’t feel that brands like Omega, IWC and Breitling offer good value...

Ah, I’m with Goldsmiths so one would hope they can see the extensive purchase history with them then. Maybe I’ll pop into a branch at some point to see if they can see what I’m registered for.

    I...

So if you’re on ‘the list’ with your favourite local AD, with good purchase history from them and the occasional Rolex thrown your way, what happens if they lose their Rolex status? Do you have to go...

I was going to create a post about the exact same topic - it’s my 40th next week! Been told there will be no Rolex so it’s between a GO SeaQ, IWC Big Pilot 43 and a Panerai Luminor.

    All three are...

Yep! That’s the one! I got it because of the lack of GMT 2s but, to be honest, it’s an absolute gem and I prefer it to the Rolex - it goes all around the world with me. While there’s always a risk of...

It wears better than you’d think. It’s the height that’s most noticeable but it doesn’t really bother me and wears comfortably on my 7.5” wrist. Personally I love the ‘Oreo’ and it’s generally my...

No diplomacy needed - I think you’ve taken my criticism the wrong way. For the price I think it’s very good and it’s in use on my PO. I think I read your original post wrong and assumed you’d...

Crikey! Only a couple of months ago they were available in the usual places for £16-18k. Can only find one for sale at the moment and it’s in the low 20s. They can’t go up much further, surely?!

Well, mine arrived and I’ve given it a go. Similar material to the ZuluDiver seatbelt material but not as well finished. In fact the finishing is awful…

That being said, it’s comfortable and for...

    Just ordered one as well.

Bold claim saying it’s as good as an Omega NATO as they’re head and shoulders above anything else I’ve owned.

I do like Erikas Originals as well as they’re just that...

Was offered 10% off a GMT. Didn’t buy it; I went for the BB58 at full price! So they do discount, but it’s model dependent.

Much like Omega where you can get 10% without any effort but the...

I do confess that it was a fake Speedmaster that got me into watches back in 2005. I think my friend had just bought a Breitling and, as I couldn’t afford one, I went for what I considered to be the...

I should’ve used ‘weirdly’ rather than ‘randomly’ to be clearer, but yes I think you’ve summed it up there. An hour and minute hand issue rather than a running issue. There’s no magnetic interference...

I received my 116610LV back from the RSC last month after a fairly reasonable 7 week wait. At first it looked like they’d done a great job - looked like new and seemed to be running +/- 0 seconds.

You see, this is why I have a ‘drinking’ watch - Tudor BB58! Doesn’t attract attention, still an interesting watch and not horrifically expensive or difficult to replace if the worst happens.

Had a fair few comments on my Hulk and one offer to buy it from a Chinese fella in an airport duty free shop!

Other than that it’s actually mainly comments on my straps, mainly NATOs.

I think that’s a fair assumption about an improvement to the clasp but for me it wouldn’t solve the main issue - the horrible faux rivets! I wore mine for a day before it went on a NATO.

I didn’t wear my Sub LV for two years after an attempted mugging for it in Nice. To be fair, I was drunk and out at 2AM, so I wasn’t really helping myself.

Then I started wearing it again on a...
