I “grew up” in Morton, just up the road. Dead man’s shoes though has to be Shane Meadows’ best work IMHO. It’s got a sense of inevitability that compels you to watch the unfolding menace. Genius.
Possibly both Shane Meadows and Paddy Considine’s finest moments in film for me.

Stick with it. It is batShit crazy and it took me two sittings but the payoff is beautiful.
Watched this a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. There’s a sense of menace about Sean Harris that really makes it tense (loved him in Red Riding).
Watched “Amsterdam” with Christian bale on the plane. Really enjoyable and partly based on a true story.
It’s been mentioned earlier in the thread but another vote for “Licorice pizza”. Genuinely a heartwarming and well done movie.
Watched “the grey man” last night, thoroughly enjoyable for what it is.

Watched “Extraction” on Netflix last night, fast paced, well shot action movie.
Motherless Brooklyn. Long and sometimes a little self indulgent but overall a real gumshoe private Dick movie. Great performances by Ed Norton and Alec Baldwin
