Version B looks perfect; include two sets of lug holes, one for the bracelet, one for the strap, and it will be. The lack of the latter is a weakness in the Speedbird 3.
Never mind modern, what the world needs is 39mm version of the the mythical Smiths SS4 with a sapphire crystal flat to the bezel like they do with Orfinas:friendly_wink:

A combination of red white and black is always a good idea and whilst my head says there are too many obvious cues from other watches, I do like it very much.
