Out of 3 pairs from there only one pair was so obviously seconds that I had to return them - some colour issues. Given that it is an outlet for seconds, that isn’t bad at all IMHO.
On the...
I think they call it diluting the brand.
In my limited experience...
Trickers>Cheaney>Loake>Barker>Grenson
And that's with my Trickers allegedly being seconds!
Shhhhh! Don't tell everyone! ;-)
Good call. Thanks.
Nice choice! I've often toyed with picking a pair of fleece lined Cheaneys up in the sales. Let us know what you think when they arrive.
Mine were £165 from the Robin Elt sale. Wearing them today - excellent boots.
LOL I think I may leave my heavy duty winter brogues in the bags for another 4-6 weeks at least. It's still August lads!
I disagree. Personally, I could not pull them off but I have little doubt someone with true style could carry them off with aplomb.
Doubt they'd work with a Capri, mind... :winkskull:
Fair points and love the "photo" but, pray tell, if you have no interest in shoes what are you doing all over this thread? Why click?
I'm glad you said that. I reckon I got 5 wears from my Loake boots before the laces snapped (typically, on the way to the Christmas party...). P1ss poor.
With my Tweed C I take usual size but wear thick socks. HTH.
The Almond colour is just a nice rich tan - nothing offensive or flashy. I find it a very versatile colour TBH.
I wouldn't disagree and that's why I haven't bagged a pair myself. However, in the Acorn leather I suspect you would get away with wearing those for most of the year.
These are a good price for AS.

I'd pick Loakes from the 1880 range above Grensons. However, if you're not in a rush I would wait for the next sales and look out for some Cheaney Tweed C. I got mine 12 months ago for considerably...
I'm not sure we can blame Cheaney for that then. :)
Are you saying they stretched, Michael?
I've not been impressed by the quality of my Grensons (made in India) but the laces of my Loake Mulligans self-destructed after 5 or 6 wears which is frankly awful.
At that price point I've found...
That's a bit of a surprise from C&J, although I have had some very dubious QC from Cheaneys bought direct from their website.
