A man called Otto was a good watch. Wife's pick, but actually very enjoyable.
In no particular order;
Mission impossible Dead Reckoning. Almost didn't bother because I HATE movies being split into two parts, apart from Lord of the Rings it feels totally pointless going to...
I recorded that last night, can't wait to have an evening home alone - couple of beers and 90 minutes of Kowalski.
Good recommendation on the new Indiana Jones MattMM. The last one would have...
We've just watched Where the Crawdads Sing as my wife recently read the book. Reviews aren't especially favourable but I really enjoyed it.
+1, although Daniel Craig's "Deep South" drawl leaves a bit to be desired - it's 90% there but there are a lot of words he trips up on and it does ruin the aesthetic of the film.
The acting is...
Is it suitable for kids? The wife and I fancy seeing it and being rated a 12a I'm tempted to take the kids and educate them on the King.
These days however a 12 rating can mean anything!! The...
Disney+ marathon...
Black Widow was good fun, 7/10 (and setting up her sister Yelena as a "Hawkeye" antagonist I think).
Free Guy was excellent, kids loved it and we loved it, already been back...
Wreck-It-Ralph 2 for me this week, great fun!
The wife took her to see The Grinch the day after and fell asleep, so perhaps I got the good one. :unconscious:
My 7 year old had two days off...
The Equalizer 2 last night at the cinema. It's a "more of the same" sequel, so if you enjoyed the first one then you'll enjoy this one.
The story isn't up to much but Denzel is absolutely at the...
My brother in law stuck that on the other day, then proceeded to talk all the way through and mute short sections while the kids were wandering in and out.
I saw enough to pique my interest but (I...
That new Tomb Raider wasn't too bad, expect the lead had a terrible British accent and was pretty wooden.
Still, a good "treasure hunt" action flick in the absense of another Indiana Jones.
Ooooh, and Trainspotting: T2.
I watched it on release and wasn't exactly blown away, but caught it again on SKY Cinema last night and really really enjoyed it.
Mucho Marvel...
Thor Ragnarok. Even as a big Marvel fan I do find the Thor movies a bit boring, more swords and sourcery than classic comic book action. I went into Ragnarok with a "meh" but...
Hugo, what a cracking watch. I recorded it over Christmas for the kids but we all sat down and watched it on Sunday.
Ben Kingsley and Sacha Baron Cohen were both excellent in it I thought, and...
I watched this last night, enjoyable, but not really life-changing.
I think a good soundtrack makes a movie, but I thought it was a massive case of style over substance to be honest with the...
I've never put much stock in what critics say. I might take a swerve if a movie is really badly universally panned (which Kingsman hasn't been), but usually I trust myself to make my own mind up.

+1, just caught it on Sky Movies.
Not perfect, but still a very enjoyable flick, I'm quite looking forward to a sequel being announced now!
I've watched that twice now, I really want to love it - it ticks every box - but I got nothing from it at all. :fatigue:
Finally signed up to NETFLIX, so in between Breaking Bad this week I've caught both the Hobbit movies.
They do drag on a bit at 3 hours a piece, but just as beautiful as the LOTR trilogy.
I've had this on Sky Plus for months now. I need to find a couple of hours to sit down and watch this!
In a similar vein, I watched 24 Hour Party People again recently. Now that is a cracker!
Finally watched The World's End.
Great start, looks like it'll follow the excellent Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, but it petered out to nothing really - a good premise but poor ending I thought.
I watched two movies yesterday that I've been trying to get round to for ages.
One was Machete with Danny Trejo, the other was Hobo With a Shotgun with Rutger Hauer.
The former was the worst...
Finally watched 'The Woman In Black'. Not massively impressed with it to be honest, but the wife seemed to enjoy it.
Another I've been planning to see for a while - 'Mr Nice' with Rhys Iffans as...
Just had a Batman weekend where we watched Batman Begins, Dark Knight and Dark Knight rises on consecutive evenings.
All just fantastic!
The first is still my favourite, but Bane is the best...
