I treated myself to my favourite film of all time today.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
Simply magnificent on every front. I really do not believe this film has an equal.

Watched Violent Night. Not artistically competant or amazing but my new favourite Christmas film.
I did notice it was directed by Tommy Wirkola of Dead Snow 1 and 2 fame and there were shades of...
Guillermo del Torro's Pinocchio. Animation so beautifully made and typical of del Torro's style.
A wonderful story, wonderfully told and brought a tear to the eye at the end.
Definitely and...
Weird - Tha Al Yankovic Story. Really enjoyed this tongue in cheek jaunt. The truth was stretched mercilessly but made for a good comedy on a Sunday afternoon.
My Neighbour Adolf - quite a good 95 mins. Some comedic overtones, well acted and almost leaves you wondering.
Watched Munich - Edge of War last night. Quite a decent watch. Interesting tale and well acted.
Persian Lessons was a very good film. Not sure how much of it was true and how much artistic incense but regardless a top film.
We watched Remember last night. Thought it was a good film, great cast and intriguing premise.
I paid for it on Amazon Prime. I appreciate it is a big claim but I genuinely think it is up there.
Just watched Balloon. Marvellous and easily on a par with Lives of Others.
Good recommendation. We saw it last night. You can see Charlie Brooker's writing in it so if you're a fan of his Screen Wipe or any of his work then you'll like this.
'71 was a very tense film I thought. Very nervy if you know the history or grew up in these times.
+1 for 7500. Really good film, tense and no sign of any glorious ending.
I watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople this afternoon. All the reviews on here suggested it would be good and it didn't disappoint at all.
I watched Extraction at the weekend. As said, predictable but good enough nonetheless. One of the fight scenes was pretty much a one-take jobbie that lasted 12 mins. They trained and practiced for 4...
I watched Le Man 66 at the weekend also. It was a really interesting film and brought to life the squabble between afford and Ferrari. There aren't many films these days that can see me still awake...
Time Bandits is on right now. The Robin Hood scene is classic comedy gold.
I think I've already posted about the above but it is a definite +1.
A very harrowing watch but worth every minute.
Took a walk down memory lane to my childhood and watched Southern Comfort last week. My childhood was not spent in a swamp and I'm not a Cajun Indian. I just watched the film a lot when I was...
Should have read:
Di Caprio is one of the best actors of his generation.
Watched the Revenant yesterday. Really good film. I think Di Caprio is one of these actors of his generation.
The 12th Man. Wow. Fantastic film. So uncomfortable at times but engrossing nonetheless.
Based on a true story set in WW2 Norway.
Watched Juan de los Muertos yesterday which was very good. A zombie film set in Cuba with a clever mix of humour and satire.
Today we had the pleasure of watching Bill. The film was based on a young...
Der Hauptmann / The Captain. Watched it on Saturday evening. Based on a true story about a deserter who happens across an SS officer's uniform and adopts a new persona. Quite dark and very thought...

This is next on my list. I'm looking forward to watching it.
