Indeed.
I thought it might be half decent with that cast but unfortunately.....
I watched Slave Girls (1967) on TPTV more out of hope than anticipation and thought as it was Hammer film it may have redeeming features.
It was an absolute shocker and this old film buff could...
Remakes in general are just lazy film making.
They are never as good as the originals anyway.
Not a lot of difference.
I've not seen any of these films (classic film fan) but judging by some of what is posted here they make Plan 9 From Outer Space seem like an Oscar nominee. :playful:
The Krays - The mad axeman (2019)
Saw it on London Live, an absolute shocker.
I don't think they are intended to be taken too seriously. :playful:
I did think the "star" Matthew McConaughy was a bit tiresome but who could not enjoy his saucy wife Michelle Dockery, the...
I guess there is a modern version?
The original 1940 version by Hitchcock with a fabulous cast won an oscar and is incredibly atmospheric.
A favourite of mine.
Is it me or are there far more crappy big budget (aren't they all) films nowadays than at any other time?
Going back even most of the "B" pics had more going for them than todays overpriced...
Oh Gawd yes. Awful load of old pony.
Watched it on a 'plane and had to turn it off before the end. True stinker.
IMO virtually all modern films are rubbish.
I dread the transatlantic flight, scanning the films available and seeing the list of cak. :grief:
Why can't they have a Film Noir or Classics...
Apart from perhaps the early Spider man films all the Marvel films are the same, one long succession of explosions and embarrassing acting.
Being a fan of the old comics I always look at the films...
Iron Man 3.
Basically just a long drawn out series of explosions.
Donkey Punch. :eek-new:
Avengers Assemble.
Load of tripe.
I hate that sort of stuff where the "hero" is a CGI animation.
Hulk and Scooby doo come to mind.
+1
Pony.
Battleship with Rhianna. :tongue-new:
After all the flag waving jingoism at the end they stupidly played Fortunate Son.
:disturbed:
I am shocked, one of the best films I have seen but if it's not your type of film, horses for courses etc.
I was speaking generally with stuff like Dr No, From Russia with love and Goldfinger which mainly keep to the original books.
Moonraker's storyline was very old fashioned and a bit dull so they...
Agreed.
The trouble is they used up all the great original Fleming story lines (like Live and Let Die) a while back and now mostly rely on meaningless tripe as the plots.
I watched it last night and enjoyed it!
Gruff cockney geezers, knee tremblers, shoot ups in Trafalgar square and long lingering shots of old London town.
What's not to like? :chuncky:
I recorded it.
Haven't heard a decent review of it.
Probably just delete it now
Skyfall.
More Christmas crap!
Fancy paying money to see this at the cinema.
Although we did watch it until the end unlike Avengers Assemble which managed about twenty minutes
