Re: anyone use an airbrush for lume?

Most volume commercial dial lume work is done by screen printing.
As for airbrush, the pigment particle size makes airbrushing quite difficult although I have got away with using it for full lume...

Re: Omega 2254.50: non AC dial swap help.

Who ever does the swap for you should be used to sourcing Omega parts and be able to get it for you in with their normal parts deliveries.

Re: Omega 2254.50: non AC dial swap help.

Where in Bucks are you? We may be able to help a little if you are close to us (MK). It would certainly be worth you visiting us at least to see a working environment and to try some of the different...
  7. Re: Kampfschwimmer / Radiomir style 40mm - does one exist

Roland Kemner (ex Fricker) has some quality ones for under 100 euros on his ebay site or email me for his phone number if you want to talk to him.
  8. Re: Kampfschwimmer / Radiomir style 40mm - does one exist

The 6497 is 36.6mm dia. and you need to allow at least 0.5mm each side for clearance and fitting, taking you to 37.6mm, leaving just 2.4mm of metal space for a 40mm case. That's only a case wall...

    Re: "Antique" re-lume brightness

liquid tints are best added to the dry powder and mixed thoroughly before adding the binder and so just dye the natural colour of the luminous pigment powder. Depending on the substance used for the...

    Re: Regulation advice needed please

Regulation varies across the 5 usual positions so a watch will be set up to get the best average across those.
Trouble is it gives each position an equal amount of time and therefore weighting...

    Re: "Antique" re-lume brightness

It depends on how the lume pigment is tinted. Some add coloured tinting liquid to the powder, some mix a range of pigment colours to darken the daylight colour.
It is possible to get lume...

    Re: Gold plate removal?

The proper 'safe' way is electro stripping (reverse plating) - any platers should be able to do it for you. Otherwise just bead blast it off. 8)

Re: Sourcing a 3mm thick sapphire crystal?

Try the Sternkreuz UV Cure adhesive. I've created thick domed crystals in the way Lysander described with no problem when the correct size couldn't be found. Use a good UV lamp to cure it.
