  1. Re: Steve McQueen wears a vintage Hanhart Luftwaffe chronograph

As much as I think Daniel Craig is a good actor, I don't think its right to say Steve McQueen 'looks like Daniel Craig', if anything its the other way round.

Steve McQueen had a 'coolness factor'...

Re: Show me your favourite Lemania!

I intend to keep it that way, because as you say, patina shows the character of the watch and makes it unique. It also has to remain in my collection because it was a gift.

  7. Re: what's the most bizarre thing you did to fund a new watch?

Promised myself I would sell one of my motorcycles. Of course, I could not wait until I found a buyer for the bike, so I bought the watch.

    Also broke my promise

Re: Fancy a Comex Sub Date?

And its ironic to think that a Comex/Milsub Rolex would have been handed over (not sold) to the would-be user. An essentially-free watch and now commanding such a price! :)

    A military issue...

One Submariner 14060, and I intend to keep it that way.

    Re: OT- which scuba regulator?

I use an Aqualung Titan (newer series) and it has served me well. There was a recall of some earlier units some time ago though.

Re: Some nice pics of the bigger Rolex DJ II

Don't like the orientation of the hour numerals, the 6 looks like a 9 to my eyes. Rolex, Omega ... I much prefer the vintage or at least older watches.

Re: G.S.T.P. F037543? Any clues what it means?

The I beneath the pheon indicates that the watch was issued to the Indian military, possibly when India was still part of the British Empire.

    Re: Refurbished vintage watches

If a Submariner 14060 is an "expensive watch", then I plead guilty because I swim and dive with it.

Do you think that doing above 80km/h in an expensive sports car is a silly idea? :)
