Probably been mentioned already but James May's Man in Japan is really good - on Prime.
He also did Man in India and Italy series which were both good too.
Started watching Dexter (now on Netflix) - as I missed it the first time round, so started from S1E1, only 95 more episodes to go!
Don't think you can go wrong with a petrol CRV as a no-nonsense family car - very versatile and reliable. The more recent models do tend to hold their value quite well.
