Nice insight into the production cost of Swiss automatic movements I suppose. Good deal even though the aesthetics are a bit off.
Yes, that. It might still be doing fine 10 years and 3650 on/off's (and some dirt) down the road but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.
With any of these watches (Omega / Rolex) you know very little of the money you pay for it is the actual watch they give you. A large chunk goes to the dealer, a very large chunk of what's left goes...
Does it consistently lose 21s a day? Have you tried different overnight positions?
Putting it in a different position can make a few seconds difference, might bring down the number a bit.
These things aren't made in the UK (or the euro zone for that matter) can't blame the swiss for not dropping their prices when the GBP and EUR took a **** ... bottom line we're not the center of the...
Chrono on a daily basis.
On my wrist every day, RIP.

If you look at what the CHF has been doing recently it makes a little more sense. http://www.x-convert.com/chart/CHF-GBP?period=1y
And comparing to 2005/2006...
Thanks guys, one thing I've come to realise now is that I'd like to buy a watch winder...its a little difficult to keep them both going, I dont like setting the time every couple of days! Never had...
Did get this one in the end...quite happy with it, it grows on me.

Its not really big but it does wear rather large on my slim wrist, probably...
Low volume business needs big margins, simple really. Costs to run a business are very significant and I think watch sellers enjoying great overall profits are currently a minority.
2003 Audi RS6 (talk about maintenance cost) + Omega Speedmaster solar impulse (soon to be joined by IWC Portuegese chrono)
Before,
Volvo 850 T-5R + Tag aquaracer chrono
Volvo C70/Saab 9-3 +...
While it was not mentioned in any way I do not believe any of the rediculously expensive items are on the table..and it feels like poor taste to even ask them. I can choose from the catalog they gave...
More confused now than before I started this thread
I prefer the blue hand portuegese versions but may go for the "available" one in rose gold..I'd have to wait a while for most others....
Definitely going to keep, wouldn't feel right selling it. The thing with the big pilots is that I find the crown a little oversized..
Well lads, for reasons that are complicated to explain I am free to choose 1 watch from IWC's current lineup (some would take a while to be sent from switzerland others are available now)
The one...
Congrats, amazing watch.
Probably could've saved a few quid by "sniping"the auction though instead of showing your hand days in advance
I'm guessing he got it for free though, I saw him recently at a gigantic (think more than a million quid) party IWC threw in Geneva (SIHH) he was one of the invited guests.
I've actually managed to use the GMT function of my speedmaster once, while on a press trip with IWC we had a sailing/navigation experience and one of the blokes running the thing came up to me and...
My only one, still very happy though!

After taking the pic I decided to thoroughly clean it
Why would you wind it? I never touch my solar impulse and even when I leave it on my drawer for nearly 2 days its still going well.
Either way if its still working normally otherwise I suggest you...
Sweetness! (+1 for the steel bracelet though) :)
I don't remember exactly but the HB-SIA shouldn't be far off 5K retail either. It was 8000$ in the Omega store in NY.
Sweet, I'm thinking one of those might be my next watch, that or the aquatimer.
