I think you are misinterpreting my point. My point was that I felt slightly stupid for having spent thousands on a watch that, to a non-watch person, didn't look any better than a cheaper alternative.

Good choice! I bought a used but pristine milgauss last week and have been smitten since. I was divided between blue or black dial but in the end I chose black, as a good opportunity presented itself.
