This one is more thorough than others I've read.
Apologies if this has been posted. I can't see any date or find it in the forums.
I was trying to get Eddie on mine. I look forward to listening to this one. There must be many stories!
The massive minute hand and a legible bezel make this the best of my (5-6) divers for underwater legibility. For reference, my DOXA Sub-200 (orange) is useless under water. Much better for the pub or...
...and the BD fits it (my wrist) very well! ;)
I think Ralph is doubling down on the flex...
...unless he just borrowed a lady as his backdrop...
Ming's sell out in minutes. They have this system (IIRC):
(1) Prior buyers can sign up to buy in a pre-sale
(2a) New buyers compete with what's left in a 10 minute (more like 30 second) window...
I've got the BD and love it, but maybe a polar can drop the (inner) minutes track and use a smaller, fixed bezel for minutes? It would open up the dial, and polars are not (AFAIK) known for rotating...
I have 6.5" (16cm) wrists and I find that lug-to-lug is a better measure of fit (or overhang), since I'm more worried about length than girth (cue watch circle jerk porno)...
The Baby Dreadnought...
Sorry for the silence (life intervened!)
I bought a new watch from a UK vendor (and maybe manufacturer) and the price I paid was the same as advertised on the website (so, VAT included?)
Thus,...
Morning all!
A few months ago, I asked how Brexit would affect watches going back and forth between the UK and EU.
Recently, I experienced that impact.
I bought a watch from a UK seller...
I just watched the doc. Really fun conversation, with a typical British humility ("After three failures, Smiths delivered")
I had a 1969 MGC and 1963 MGB. Both had Smiths gauges of DUBIOUS value...
Definitely keep the soundtrack!
Love the sparkles on the dial, but is purple the best colours? (I'm curious on hoe other colors would look, but maybe it's "25th anniversary royal purple"?
Eddie -- Love the dial.
I'm wondering if there's some (not so) subtle way to bring 25 into the design.
Obviously 250 (too few) or 2500 pieces (far too many!), but maybe replacing 3/6/9 with 2...
One for each wrist? ;)
Thanks!!
This I hate. A watch that's traded 5x in 2 years pays taxes 5x vs the same watch traded once? There should be a "used" exemption, but I guess they are worried about games. The Dutch (where I live)...
I'm guessing customs will delay shipments and add taxes.
Any idea of how this might work (fail?)
This is definitely the way to go... but you want to make sure it's there for a week at least...
Looks damn good. I've got the black (and 2 more white-dial Smiths), so it's always a struggle!
Nice swap. Thanks for the info!
Is Locktite 222 (or the Sinn equal?) permanent? Or does it just make it harder for unintentional loosening?
Lovely. How accurate are they? (I have a Glycine Combat Sub that keeps excellent time!)
Wow. Only way to "improve" would be for all the screw heads to line up ;)
Yeah, there's a big difference between the brands watch people laud vs those that people buy.
Seiko, like Honda, has a lot of reputation for a smaller (volume) company.
Citizen's reputation,...
