I just got of the phone with IWC. They said that the wacht needed lots of stuf, and mandatory laser treatment, mandatory brushing, mandatory new hands, replacement crown ;-) etc. Price tag>1100 euro....

I have this very old Ernest Borel (found the maker based on their lovely logo).
It was handed down to me from my father, I know it was worn by my grandfather, who worked in Asia...

Thanks you guys for all the interest and good advice. I won't have the watch polished. Just reconditioning of the inner workings.
