Another vote for a 2254.50. I have one and really love it.
I have to admit that I have absolutely no interest at all in current/recent (chunky) Submariners so there are a lot of watches that I...
Yes, very underrated. I sold mine in response to a WTB - a minter, complete with everything from new, bracelet, strap, pencil holder box, leaflet etc. the complete kit.
I have a Forstner flat link on a Speedmaster and think it’s great. Another good and cost effective option is a mesh bracelet, ideally the type without ‘ends’, similar to the original Omega style....
Excellent choice. IMO, as time goes on, this early version will be increasingly seen as the classic Bond Seamaster. Enjoy it.
Totally understand. It looks to be a really nice watch and would be almost impossible to restore.
I have one, late ‘99/early 2020, and no issues at all. Fantastic watch. Go for it.
Arrogance and neglect haven’t killed Rolex stone dead.
I couldn’t agree more. For me the only attraction is as an intriguing side story to the overall Moonwatch legend. I’ll still get one when they are readily available but doubt if I’ll ever wear it.
If you buy it, just send it to James Hyman (dreamboat10, afaicr) and it will look correct again.
Virtually any Heuer will confer WIS status.
+1 for an Orient. IMO the dark grey dial linked to above is an attractive watch.
Any photos?
Ok, that’s all gone to the dogs, big time.
The remaining part of the year must focus on getting back to a net zero (increase) position and getting a few ‘project’ watches completed.
That’s a Tissot Navigator Ref:45501. There’s a very similar Omega, with a subtly different case, which would be more collectible/expensive. A very nice watch if you come across one.
He hasn’t been active here since 2015, but I’ve sent you a PM which should help.
If your dad is likely to travel a bit in retirement I would suggest a proper GMT and the Mido Ocean Star GMT is bang on budget. If I didn’t already have a Black Bay GMT I would be getting one of...
Welcome back Murias. This is a photo I posted a couple of days ago on another thread. You may recognise ‘your’ Pasadena in the back row, to the left of the Heuer sign. I’m still enjoying it.

I use weedkiller (glyphosate) and then use the gas burner to get rid of the dead foliage a few weeks later when it’s dry.
Have you seen the price of glyphosate this year? I bought 20L in early 2020...
2014/15/16 sounds about right.
I couldn’t be certain but I do think it was less than £600. More like £499 from memory. It really was a ridiculously low price for a quality brand, 7750 based watch. I remember thinking that buying...
Thanks for the positive comments on the display. It started off with the models that have the Heuer sponsorship decals and then I had a box that was almost the exact size of the original Heuer chrono...
Our local car wash, operated by a local father and son with a couple of local employees, charges £6 (car) and £7 (4x4etc) for a proper hand wash, followed by an ionised water rinse. Certainly no...
The lighter dials with contrasting sub-dials look a bit weird and the black ring doesn't help. However, I think the Moon, Mercury & Neptune versions look good overall. I could live with the Mars too.
Lovely. Isn't that one of the Eterna versions? IMO, the best version from Eterna with the clean black dial and solid hands. An eBay seller was selling these NOS a few years ago for a ridiculously low...
