"These days, no one requires a Swiss watch to tell the time – or a watch from any country. The time displayed on our mobile phones and other digital devices will always be more accurate..."

Here's mine - simple, robust, super clear to read. It came on a nasty canvas strap, but now on a waterproof leather Hirsch Mariner it looks the part. Amazing lume, too.

They are beautiful - so understated. I've got an Arctura with similar hands, but rounded/elliptical, which I really like. Of course the standard of finish on the Arctura is not a patch on a GS.
That's lovely - I really love the shape of the hands. Anyone know what this style of hand is called?
There's only one - "Does anybody really know what time it is?" by Chicago. A fabulous, fabulous song, with not a dodgy pun in sight.
Gardening is great. The secret is to get into gardening about thirty years before all your mates of your own age do. That way, by the time they start to take an interest, your garden will be better...

Now don't get cross, but I don't like the look of G-Shocks, although I like the technology. So I got this instead - multiband 6, wave ceptor, tough movement. Kind of a naked G?

I'll keep you posted. I'm intending to wear it at work plenty, which will certainly put it to the test.
This just arrived from Seiya Japan. First impressions are very positive, although the bright blue accents are much stronger than most photos (including my own) can capture. After the initial shock, I...
Green & Blacks cocoa, made with whole milk. Unglamorous but effective.
I had a Suzuki GP100U, a KH400 and then a 350LC. I've just seen a pristine KH400 in town in the colour I had (purple) - what a fabulous bike, made me think seriously (again) about getting a bike once...
Also late in, but £420 could get him a super pen knife, Damascus blade, totally luxurious and distinctive. Loads to choose from on Heinnie Haynes.
It was a joke, Graham. That's what the "seriously" indicates.
I'm sure a pillar of the community like yourself Graham understands the difference between blindly obeying stupid laws and doing the right thing:
"One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust...
I don't know about Andy, but I don't carry a socking great hunting knife because that would not be the best tool for the job. My 3.25" locking SAK is just fine.
And as for drinking and driving, I...
Well, well, you learn something new every day - thanks.

Understood, Graham.
But all of this has to be preceded by a stop and search in the first place. And then by the officer taking the decision to make the arrest, rather than confiscation and a...
This.
Worth remembering that, even if your blade is not locking nor over three inches, it can STILL get you in trouble if the copper thinks you're up to mischief.
So you might restrict...
Agreed 100%.
For me, the risk of anything going awry rises from next-to-nothing when I'm at work or commuting, to very slightly less than next-to-nothing at other times. But agreed, it's my...
I'd like to know the full circumstances of that (ridiculous-sounding) prosecution, but I'd still urge people to consider the actual likelihood of it happening to them, too.
As I say, I can't...
I'd qualify that - if you've good reason its perfectly fine to carry a locking blade knife in the UK.
My EDC is a SAK with a three inch locking blade. I use it daily at work, and carry it when I'm...
