On the one hand you don't want your deposit sat in any company's bank account right now and given all of the shutdowns I would imagine it unlikely that they're going to get the watch for you any time...
5 (and 1 heirloom)
In order of acquisition:
Tudor BB S&G on leather
1950s radial-dial Kirovskie
Longines Presence Heritage in 18k red gold with brown alligator strap
Rolex Oyster Perpetual...
I'm amazed there haven't already been much deeper discounts on new stock/manufacturer RRP to be honest.
I struggle to see how the next 24 months won't be a bloodbath for the industry.
Can't help but feel Hodinkee and the super-rich collectors they tend to feature have ruined the 'cool' factor of vintage watches, and especially Rolex, at this point. I used to love vintage when it...

Had very high hopes for this one.
Very disappointed. I might still like it in the metal, but I'm getting rather tired of watch brands' inability to offer anything truly fresh.
PSA for those (like me) who rarely venture over to the brand specialist forums.
The new watches have been shown to the press this week, and are under embargo until this Friday.
Looks like we...
Isn't this supposedly (per Tim Mosso) the week that Swatch Group brands are launching their novelties to the public?
Anyone have any more info?
Any strap that increases stack height looks horrendous - NATO, bund, wraparound leather, whatever.
The fact that many watch companies only make their premium and limited editions in the largest...
God what a stunner that is. Was too slow alas.
With the commodification of Rolex you'd expect that brands like Omega would be lowering prices to try to compete (as the value retention on Rolex is going to sway a huge % of casual prospective...
Tried on the white and black 36mm in WoS Regent Street sometime in autumn last year. They're both nice. White more versatile/work appropriate but in my opinion the subtle sunburst on the black dial...
I think I'm more excited about Longines than Omega this year. Omega's in-house Co-Axials are just too thick, and Longines' heritage releases have been great for the past few years.
I've been pondering Tudor's releases and my hypothesis is as follows.
I think they have been holding out on offering more BB58 variants as they know there are still many more willing customers for...
Source for those Seikos?
Sadly, it's the 12 O'clock of the PO1 dial. Tudor rotated it 90 degrees on their Instagram teaser. The funny thing is they know what we want, and teased that it's coming, then slapped us in the face....
What's the deal with the rival event that Swatch Group are supposedly hosting at the moment? I get that it's targeted more squarely towards retailers, but it doesn't even have a website?
Tudor... what on EARTH were you thinking this year?
Ah that's very unpleasant. Sorry to hear. I'd forgotten that many watch insurance policies pay out vouchers.
Genuine question - how does such a situation come about?
If this is a genuine leak of anything official then the most disappointing thing is how poor Tudor's render quality is.
The watch is also pretty ghastly, mind.
Edit: maybe it does fit the...
As someone above - my local AD also quoted 2 years. Have been on the list for around 6 months now, if memory serves, and not heard anything.
Don't doubt that the wait would be quite a bit shorter...
Tudor's lead designer mentioned in an interview at Baselworld 2018 that of the pieces he's designed in his career, his favorite piece will be released at Baselworld 2019.
That would suggest that...
If anyone gets one, I'd be very keen to see some live pics (and ideally video).
I've got my eye on it for a subtle work watch.
