My mother in law says peppa pig is not allowed….. the YM42 very certainly is allowed. Congratulations. A beast of a fine Rolex.
I seem to remember that Martyn had trouble and had to return the watch. He mentioned it on TZ.
The lighting can be an issue, here’s a 42mm in white. Doesn’t seem very different to me, tricky to capture...
Which colour is that metal.......because if it’s white, then the writing for ‘Yachtmaster’ should also be in white. Red features only for smaller rose gold, but the lighting can be tricky and hard...
I think there are now at least three of us on TZ with the 42mm, (maybe more who keep it quiet) and rather more with the rose gold Yachtmaster. They are slowly climbing into favour. Slowly!
My...
Just allow a little time for the Oysterflex to bed in. It can feel a bit stiff at first but soon relaxes and becomes very comfortable indeed. With the new adjustable clasp for this year you can get a...
Congratulations. Very nice surprise. I do think that Rolex are making more stock available. About time too.
Congratulations; I had a Prince for a couple of years. A special watch, so different to other modern Rolex models. Display back, with beautifully engraved movement. Hand wound . Just so rare and...
Far from new, but back from having a new battery and check-up. Anniversary edition, but aren’t they all! Nice though.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200515/5def2eeb1a89701be8acf18872c7e761.jpg

One of my all-time favourites, as you say, brilliant lugs and like a slightly butch Speedy. In truth, it’s superior to the Speedy in several ways, but minus the history. Lovely dial and a seriously...
Well , as they both fit...mine was switched for me in the shop...you could always try a Jubilee at some time in the future. It’s true that they make the watch a touch more ‘bling’ so you could see...
Interesting that it’s taken a drastic shortage of sports watches to make hobbyists see what ‘ordinary’ buyers have known all along....that the DJ is probably the best all-round Watch Rolex makes....
The standard old Speedy Pro is more authentic at a fraction of the price.
That looks strikingly like the Seamaster DeVille I bought in 1967. Loved that watch and wore it for fifteen years.
You can see where this CP2 Zenith design originated.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190228/7844a76bb43e54fc288cd84d126c3900.jpg
Right down to the 30 minute counter. Great, simple design.

Had one before, foolishly sold it. Now put that right.
So, this is my, tiny, collection of mechanical watches....
Am I imaging things, or are dress watches making a slight come-back? If so, about time. That Moser looks like an early Portugeiser. But then, dress watches are pretty conservative in general....
Another solar driven device. Quite robust too.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190114/239f391975c41c3b1ab2c6366285a59a.jpg

Don't expect to be posting on this thread again for a while........
Good choice, the ceramic modern version lost the classy looks.
To me, the gold Daytonas are the stars...especially given current prices of steel models. I prefer the none-ceramic bezels anyway.
The gold does mark a bit more easily, but who cares. If it...
Sold my white gold Daytona to a friend a year ago; now I've persuaded him to sell it back to me. Collected it today. I had forgotten just how much I like it, and missed it....
Most excellent cat.
