I know this feeling well. The Omega Constellation Manhattan. Everything I dislike in a watch, and yet it calls to me. But experience has taught me enough judgement to know that it's an urge best left...
After experimentation, I've landed on Muhle DE razor and Feather blades as the best combination for me. Merkur DE was good as well.
Pass on open comb, or slants. Not necessary for a good shave. ...
To me, the Oyster Perpetual Date 15010 perfects the idea of a single do-it-all watch.
It has only one flaw: inflated price.
Done. Will be interested to read his conclusions.
Try black suede on a watch with a polished case, for contrast. Worked very well on my GS.
Saffiano is having a bit of a moment. It's distinctive, and usually very supple.
I agree that Ostrich...
There's a cost to the administration and stewardship associated with any gift, large or small. Some charities will be concerned that gifts in small denominations will skew the ratio between income...
Yes, very nice case shape. The case design looks similar to the SUS calendar model from the '90s.
There are many good suggestions in this thread, but those new to DE razors should know that technique has more to do with outcomes than the equipment. It's important to be patient and not become...
Nothing wrong with either, but perhaps consider selling both on if it moves you closer to something you want and would wear more frequently.
Guerlain Vetiver.
If it's sporty that's the priority, a motorcycle sounds like the best option.
As a Canadian, I'll offer a superficial opinion: HALIOS. I just like them
Yes, it's a favourite here also. The dial texture and the case did it for me.
Another fan of the design here, but not the size. If it were offered at 36mm, I'd have one on my arm very quickly.
Hamilton has offered [may still] a 7750-based chrono in the Khaki collection that runs around 38-39mm and works very well on a G-10 NATO strap. Robust, easily serviced, and quite affordable.
Here's another vote for Glerups, from another Dave E.
I saw the thread title and thought: "Malpeques!". But this is less helpful than I hoped. Sorry, no informed opinion to offer after all.
Oddly, I've seen a few in Newfoundland. Must be the oil money.
An interesting Reverso, Lange 1815 Up & Down [the smaller first gen], or VC Patrimony Traditionale .
I own this watch, and agree that the OEM G-10 is a disappointment. The dial texture is a wonderful touch, and harkens back to its ancestors.
Unfortunate that a microrotor movement would be impractical.
Afternoon, all, hope you're all staying safe and well in these trying times.
I'm moving back to the UK next summer after 21 years abroad. I've got a house with a drive for two cars, and a garage...
A good quality repro of the Eames 670 chair and 671 ottoman can be very comfortable and an outstanding value, IF they are a good for for YOU. I love mine, but my wife finds them intolerable.
And interested to hear a review once you've had it for a while.
