Can I ask what watch that is please? Not familiar to me.
If you take your argument to the logical conclusion why would you need a watch at all. Your 'crappy iphone' probably has access to an app that does all that stuff and much, much more. Sorted?
I think that's probably a more industrial process than I had in mind. Was thinking more along the lines of DIY home polishing tbh
Just goes to show how difficult it is to place a value on a watch outside of the well known brands/models. Well in my case anyway.
I would have said that was a fashion/sports watch, maybe £100 -...
Laser welding is a must in order to maintain the case shape.
Not something to try at home I assume!
Thanks - very helpful
In looking at potential used watch purchases (a Panerai specifically) I quite often see watches with v light scratches or swirls on the casing. In most cases I know that this is normal wear and tear...
'Felt sick' - really?
Been watching this on the bay with interest. Not bad resale value for a watch that cost $279 (£180) 8 months ago! I was considering a bid but think I might wait for the next Aegis run to open.
...
Given that they appear to have sold out the Aegis in about 3 days I'm surprised they didn't commit to a larger production run. Maybe it was because it was the first batch and they wanted to see how...
Understand the cash flow control but why discontinue a successful model (such as the Explorer 2) when there is obviously still significant demand?
Really fancy one of these but they are all sold out :(. Strange business practice, lots of demand apparently but not enough stock ....
Details of auction removed so obviously something dodgy going on.
I think many people are simply not as into watches as those frequenting this forum and we tend to forget that sometimes. I'm sure for many people buying a fake is no big deal, nor is it sacrilegious....
I couldn't agree more. I bought the exact model 3 weeks ago as my first ever 'proper' watch and posted pics on here. I've had numerous compliments on it since from my watch wearing buddies (though...
That is indeed scary, particularly for someone who is fairly new to this such as myself. It's tempting when trying to build up a collection to be attracted by what appear to be legit 'bargains' and...
Welcome from a fellow newbie here - take some time to read past posts and use the search function - tons of great info on here!
very interesting perspectives - thanks
As a newbie (just bought first ever proper watch) I've been looking around on this forum and finding myself v attracted to various models I was never previously even aware of. A question I had was...
aargh! my eyes!
Oh so close
what a tease !
...50th post, just have to wait best part of 2 months now to start drooling and making ill advised purchases.
Oh god - the suspense is killing me.
Wow......
Nope
I can see the rationale in that. Realistically that's going to be a way off for me.
