A good compromise for city riding is drops with 'interrupter' levers on the tops. OK, you have to move to the hoods to change gear (or drop to the drops) but it does mean you can brake from the tops....

Good grief PipPip, don't raise your arm like that, you'll put on upper body mass if you're not careful with exercise like that!
Sad I know, but as I've often got my little lad on the front and live in the middle of the city with the rush hour stupidity that entails I want to keep both hands on the bars. I've jus bought and...
If you like vintage here's my pub and shopping bike for the last couple of years;

Unfortunately having just bought a Bullitt (must take a nice shot now it's been...
For zooming around the city I like Halo Twin Rail Couriers (Berlin edition). Grippy, roll well and just about the most puncture proof I've used.
First ride was scary! Soon realised that the issue was steering tube slack and added a spacer from the parts bin. After that crisp as a well done chip. You do have to 'plan' your turns a bit though....
Need to get a Brooks Swallow in honey ordered and I will be done.
Latest addition, picked it up from Bournemouth on Friday (some of it fitted in the car, a lot did not). Morning of carpentry later and off to the docks in glorious sunshine for a pint. Today is a...
I'm another 'SPD on everything' fella. Up to and including my full on roadbike. Hey, if they were good enough for Graeme Obree then they are good enough for me. Cheap as chips and highly durable.

Classy build, very nice job.
This could be a gamechanger;

Yep, always used to boil motorcycle chains in grease. And sausages.
MucOff dry lube is fantastic stuff - doesn't seem to pick up road shite much. Haven't used the wet lube yet but if it's up to...
I understand the logic - but those 26" wheels on that frame really jar the eyeballs.
A good tip is to use bits of string. Squeeze the tyre bead together, push into the well of the rim, tie a bit of string around the tyre and the rim at that point to hold it in place. Repeat at about...
I'd go for something more along these lines;

It's a Moulton, it doesn't fold and the saddle is a Brookes. And it is fairly pricey.
Yes, yes, yes. Love that - perfect city bikes (proper quick too) but in Ti with that welding.........drool.
My Cervelo equipped brother is visiting from the USA on Boxing Day, equipped with his Cervelo...I've spent almost exactly zero saddle hours since October.
I am going to be punished into a small...
Love the lugwork - proper CB from before it was just a recycled 'heritage' name.
Seriously jealous PipPip, I love his stuff. Been tempted to pull the trigger on a track so many times.
Decided though that I'm going to hang on for my ultimate uberbike, which will have;
Ti...
Jason Burls makes bloody lovely bikes (or at least designs them wrt Ti) damn good choice Sir.
Hi guinea,
Hopefully not a silly question, but have you got the cable adjusted so that the lock bolt will engage? If not then the return circuit may not be operating correctly.
Master cylinder on the calliper. Means that the pads 'float' which you don't get with straight forward mechanical discs. With Jagwire cables I'm not seeing much of a difference to standard master...
Converted the nose of my commuter / crosser to hydraulic disc last night. Come on winter, bring it!
