Double post
I didn’t realise - that’s a shame. I never owned one when these were available before so I’m still looking forward to this release.
Eh? They’ve always had a monochrome screen and I’d expect a regular edition to be about £99 - so the price and appearance are what you’d expect surely?
I’m not hugely keen on the 40th release - but as it also has an upgraded module with led backlight you can guarantee there will be other releases in other colours etc going forward.

There’s a new 40th anniversary release of the 6600 scheduled for May!
I sourced a red and a yellow resin set for 2 of my vanilla 5600’s about 6 months before that set was released!! Something about a yellow G!

It’s just solar powered - no atomic and no Bluetooth. I have the 8235 which is the 35th anniversary version - almost identical but steel and a slightly different module - el not led. £519 does seem...
I didn’t know these existed tbh. The display looks a bit squashed compared to the regular models? The standard squares are pretty much the smallest g shocks anyhow, I struggle to imagine anyone ever...
Looks good but I’m not sure the wings are held on with long enough screws to act as an effective replacement springbar??

That’s pretty much what mine cost from Seiya last year including the tax sting a few weeks after arrival. The watch took less than 48 hours to arrive after ordering - which I was frankly amazed at!...
Weirdly the 5000U isn’t sold in the UK - bought mine from Seiya last year

I can’t stand the Bluetooth app thing - I think I’d go for the non solar version just to avoid it tbh. Here in the uk you can’t beat mb6

I think Casio are making an attempt to broaden their range to appeal to a much wider audience. Gone are the days of multiple colours and flavours of 5600s and 6900s, with Frogmen for those with...
Just ordered one of these on a Black Friday deal - I’m usually a black g shock man but something appeals about this colourway (particularly for £240 delivered!) - It seems to look relatively subdued...
I couldn’t cope with that amount of excess strap tbh, regardless of the size of the watch. It would be great if they came with sections partly pre-cut so you could trim the strap to a more...
I had one of those codenames, on a grey fabric and ‘leather look’ strap throughout the 90’s. It was my gym watch and I don’t remember ever changing the battery tbh. Nice to see one still in good...
There’s such a broad range of styles - and a lot of them fit that description, particularly a lot of the more recent releases. But I think a lot of them look great too - even within the same model...
No me neither, goes against the ethos of a watch you can bang about and not worry IMHO. Plus my 50+ eyes can’t read anything on the dial except for the 3 main hands which makes the other functions...
Now there’s someone teetering on the edge of the G shock collecting cliff if ever I saw one!! :)

No, my comments on that watch were garnered from a thread on watchuseek. I found the modules in these really peculiar - no running seconds, and the functions change when you release the button not...
I had a white one last summer - great MIP display but the module drove me nuts!

So, after the original watch was given a new battery and stripped of its over 15 years old original bezel and strap, complete with dots of every colour paint I’ve used on the house in that time (and...
Keep ‘em both - that’s what slightly lairy colours g shocks are for!
