Dropped the car off at the very end of May and collected it this morning after some osmosis related bodywork repairs and, more or less, a full respray....

Owned this over 13 years now, bought by me at around its 3rd year after initial registration. At 116k miles and with plenty of stone chips the old girl is starting to show her age, still polishes up...

Are there any BMW independent specialists your way? Or even any other reputable garage? I'd bet you'd be able to have that replaced for a chunk less than the dealer quote.

That looks very much like a Grinnall Scorpion. I pax'd in one down to Le Mans years back, used a 1200cc BMW bike engine IIRC and was quite nippy!
