These Givi muffs are very good although you do need to make your own hole to bolt them to the bar ends to stop them...
I had one explode across my chest once. I was severely winded, covered in blood and entrails and I had a lurid bruise. Luckily I managed not to fall off.
I take passengers for a living. The best thing for an inexperienced or nervous passenger is a decent backrest. Makes them feel secure knowing they can’t fall off the back.
