All but one company have been local small concerns and it's been the guy that fits the windows that has been out, the one that mentioned it was from a larger outfit and was more of a "salesman" type.
Just to update this, we've now had another company out to measure up and nowt mentioned about size of windows in habitable rooms.
As per my other thread, I'm looking at having a new garage/workshop built, due to the prices that we've been quoted so far by local builders I've decided to go down the route of sourcing materials...
Totally understand why the regs are there, and we will be complying with them, it's just a worry that 3 out of 4 window companies didn't mention the size.
I suppose it might have been picked up on...
The actual opener we have currently is 400x830 which gives the minimum 0.33sq mtrs or is it because the 400mm measurement doesn't meet current regs.
I did look at that myself, but when it says, "Either of these are not to be less than 450mm" does that mean one or the other, or both have to be no less than 450mm.
We're getting quotes for replacing most of our windows, we've had 4 different people so far and only one has mentioned safety regs concerning a couple of bedroom windows, basically they are not big...
I have absolutely no problem getting fully involved, I've already said that I will demolish existing garage and decking, I can even get a local friend to pop down and dig out footings etc if it saves...
And you only add value if you were to ever sell it, if you never move then it just becomes a larger inheritance for someone.
I agree that mostly it's down improving the quality etc.
Thought I might as well update this, after re-designing the garage to just a single height, (albeit with a semi vaulted roof ), same floor area, 10x6 metres, no steel work needed like last time,...
Sadly the time came yesterday to say goodbye, we couldn't see him suffer any more, things happened very quickly after his last fluid drain on Thursday, he just didn't recover and looked like he was...
Personally I think we have to adopt a bit of "back to the future" mentality, stop worrying so much about green/renewable energy and focus on what we have here right now, at least until we can sort...
Get them all the time, very rarely do delivery companies send out emails/messages like this, just delete in future.
How much detail did you give them?
Before this goes off track, I asked the question purely because when I had my Breitling Navi world serviced last year the guy that serviced it mentioned that sometimes any lubrication inside can dry...
All of the many watches that are kept as safe queens, ( although maybe not actually in a safe ), how often do people show them the light of day and wind them up.
Is it better not to wind them up, or...
The wifi part was fine after I plugged in the extender, the camera picked it up more or less straight away, the camera itself I believe must be faulty as it doesn't do what it's meant to do, sense...
I'm not sure how you work this out, it would take a lot longer than 20mins to get from the camera back to the router.
Lifting floorboards/carpets etc takes time.
TP link did the job of extending the wifi, the camera is another story though, ( will have to look at something different ).
Thanks for all the info.
As usual a lot of useful info, I'll try first with a TP link extender, if that doesn't work I'll contact sky and see what they say about upgrading the router, failing that it looks like I might be...
Had this recently when I accidentally transferred funds into a family members account that had been closed, I tried to stop the payment through my bank almost immediately but they can't do it, the...
Should add that we are with skyQ, solid stone walls throughout the original house, router is opposite end of the house to where the camera is.
SkyQ box is very close to the camera, ( I always...
I need to extend the Wi-Fi signal in our house, solid stone walls that seem to block everything.
Which ones actually work, proven track record etc etc
I’ve just installed a camera and it’s...
could you not just draw down enough to keep him under the threshold of losing his benefits
No, we have no pavements at all here, the lane is wide enough for just one vehicle
The existing gates are right at the edge of the boundary, trouble is that's where the corner of the garage will be, so we have to create a different opening, we live in a very rural location and the...
