Yep. Never stopped, despite the digital proliferation.

These days I'm shooting mostly color print films, and getting them processed locally for cheap, both in 135 and 120. The price of gear is...

I also have an M9... Which has only depreciated in value since purchasing it. Fortunately, those Summicrons look great on there as well... :)

You don't often see the M4-P in chrome. They're usually black.

But I do like an M4 (or variant) in chrome. Here's the one that goes in my bag with me everywhere:

While they're not worth anything close to what you've paid... The EOS 30 is still a fantastic camera to someone hoping to shoot film and utilize great Canon lenses. Film's had quite a resurgence of...

I would look for a used Epson V500 or V550.
The scans are pretty nice and it works relatively quickly.

It's not as fast as a dedicated film scanner, but the price makes it tolerable.

The last time I saw VM was probably 2010. His shows are enjoyable, but you're absolutely right about the lack of interaction. He certainly doesn't do any more than he has to these days!

    Re: Err... What about us

I occasionally break out my old Nikon F3 and the old, fast primes I've got for it and shoot a little.
It's such a relaxing break from the digital gadgetry of buttons and screens and whatnot...

Van Morrison's "Astral Weeks," a remastered import from Japan...

Sounds good, but it's still not as good as the vinyl.

  14. Re: Sunset pics, damage to sensor is possible?

It used to be said that prolonged exposure to UV rays can kill pixels, but I don't know if there's any truth to that. I know my Ikegami camera at work (that's from 2003) has a few, but generally they...

    Re: Nikon P7000

Looks like a complete G10 copy. It's uncanny.

I know the optical VF in the G10 does zoom with the lens. But it's still virtually useless.

    Wonderful.
  17. Re: Anyone used a 18-70 Nikon 3.4-4.5 DX lens

I'll second that. I usually shoot with a 17-35 2.8, but there are times when I go with the 18-70 to save weight. It's as sharp as they come. Good lens for the money.

    Re: Is this bokeh?

I love the creamy bokeh. And gin.
So, this is clearly the best of both worlds for me.

    Re: Nikon 70-200 2.8 - any views?

Just get yourself a used Nikkor 80-200mm 2.8D and never look back. I've had mine for what seems like forever, and it's still as sharp and fantastic as ever. The lack of AF-S has never affected my...

    Re: Nikon 70-200 AFS 2.8

I carry an 80-200mm 2.8 on one body and a 17-35mm 2.8 on the other, and don't find either terribly bad, but I'm quite used to the heavy feel of both.
