Hi sorry sorted now
Funny you say this as a mate who’s a jeweller said to me years ago he has done this for years and recommended doing it , fake watch and a few quid on top of a chest of drawers.
Who knows , just...
I’m in as well , because if they had stuff that cheap it could just be moved sideways to other dealers with no hassle Warranty etc .
I’d go with James again Tony he’s a top guy .
BTW Rolex used to fit pearls years ago , probably stopped or want fortunes nowadays or get a new insert fitted and pop it out ?
Really sorry to hear this , may she RIP and please accept my condolences to you and your family Eddie .
I’m the same I picked it up 2.5 years ago from the AD and have never worn it , absolutely stunning watch and even more so in the flesh and tbh I wish I’d sold it in all the madness a while ago but...
It just makes me wonder with all the stories of parts being quoted to replace on top of the service price ( prices at £1k + and loads more at times ) whether people are taking their watches to...
To be honest I’m amazed you even bothered taking it to RSC as there’s no way on Gods Earth they would take that in and do a polish / refinish without it being as part of a service and very much doubt...
For me if you like the watch and by the sound of it you do , I’d take this as a positive as everything is right it just needs a device and the owner isn’t prepare to spend on it for it to be serviced...
Whereabouts are you based ?
Should be a simple enough job it’s just the part/s , Rolex like you say you might as well scrap the watch with what they would charge ( astronomical amount BTW ) .
I always love pictures of this watch it’s an absolute stunner
I agree regards the service , I have received great service as well , amazing though now that the price has doubled that they have now said up to 10 years between services ( depending on how it’s...
That’s the point I think people are going elsewhere or are leaving them longer , 3 weeks to turn a watch around ?
Have they that much work on as it used to be 10-12 weeks and you were happy with...
Mick with the greatest of respect you don’t know the rules no one seems to the goalposts are being moved continuously , look at Haywoods recent issue and if it hadn’t been for the item being on CCTV...
Unbelievable but when you take a watch in for a service they are unreal in identifying a virtually impossible mark on a crystal dial or hands in order to replace them ?
I’m a fan of Rolex but...
Yep and that’s before you get hit with a new crown is required , crystal has a miniscule mark on it and then they start looking at the bracelet and clasp .
I’m a big fan of Rolex and 4 weeks is unbelievable
( years ago I waited 8 months for a Red Sub !! ) and is great but the other part of me is thinking are people fed up of the price rises/ parts...
Seems to wear big in my opinion .
PS might be worth giving Dominic at Hackettwatches a shout as I bought mine from him and he’s got another full set coming .
I’ve just bought an AK 116900 , to be honest I’m not 100% sure , when I wore it I liked it and if you can buy one at sensible money then give one a go .
Let me throw something out there an...
The Explorers are super watches I have a polar 216570 and I absolutely love it , I’m the same with ageing eyes and the polar is so so easy to read and em wears brilliantly on the wrist .
Just my humble opinion, Rolex will want silly money to service the watch with some of the prices and recommendations they are coming back with regards modern stuff .
Take it or send it to a good...
I’ve just bought another piece from him (/I’ve known Dom for years ) as usual top class service and the watch was an absolute minter .
Yeah Sean’s a good guy he’s serviced a couple of my watches .
That in my humble opinion was a cheap watch and a very nice piece and even in todays market would have sold in a flash on SC and possibly for more money ?
I like the Vintage stuff and the 5 digit...
Dreadful news , spoke with Tom years ago and was a really nice guy who was an absolute wealth of knowledge on Omega.
My thoughts are with his family RIP Tom .
