Not so simple I suspect.
. I’ve never heard Rolex describe any ceramic material as a precious metal. It’s not. The metal case of the 42mm is made of 18k gold, no ceramic. The rotor composition is...
Fair enough. But have a look at the YM42 to see how Rolex are using the basic chassis of the older YM to. Move into’modern’ eras. The YM 42 has a slimmer chassis with paired back lugs, ending the...
Rolex are fortunate in having a lot of wriggle room with the old bezel. I imagine the later YM will look rather different. My instinct is that various bezels are going to come in for plenty of...
Well, let’s hope you get there on time.
That’s good; you can’t go easily wrong with this great model. Fit and forget!
Is the sale of Rolex models determined by dealer price? It’s all about availability. And being an ‘outsider’ (not a local) is worst of all in the eyes of dealers. They like local buyers. That’s key....

Come to think of it, I...
Really? That’s cheeky.

Hands up, those who believe there is such a thing as a 'waiting list.' I don't, I think it is just an imaginary list used to fob people off. I know people who quickly get AD access to virtually...
Is their a masochistic element creeping in here? A joint sharing of the indignities and unfairness of life if you want a Rolex?
Life is so hard, then they want to keep the guarantee card!
Rolex could have added 20% to the price of their sports models, without much reduction in demand. You could see them as quite restrained, the opposite of 'cynical'.
All of the modern Cellinis exude class; they all have the same solid gold case, same basic design and just offer different complications. My favourite is the dual-time. Lovely on the wrist.
But,...
Quite. But the local dealers prefer to sell locally, to maintain business. No repeat business in selling to a tourist.
