You make it sound like vintage quartz isn't some kind of forbidden, cursed tome you must never touch! I've bought plenty of damaged and/or non functioning vintage quartz watches, particularly 7548...

Thanks for all the feedback. I've had some vintage quartz watches repaired before, but then I had a better idea of the damage than just "faulty" and I doubt the seller here would give me a more...

    WTH happened to this movement?

Stumbled over a Monnin-cased quartz diver on Ebay that I liked the look of, although it was sold as faulty. Examining the pictures I can see why, since there seems to be a hole burnt right through...

Thank you everyone who chimed in, seems my instinct was right. A slight bummer, but at least it means I have a little bit of a nose for when things aren't right with an 844.

Here's a similar find that I stumbled across on Ebay. Does anyone know if Ollech & Wajs ever issued this model to armed forces, or did they just swipe the design of the G10 dial for a "regular"...

    Replacing an ETA 2784 movement?

I currently have a watch with an ETA 2784 movement at a watchmaker for repairs, but there's a risk they won't be able to fix it. It works if I shake it but it doesn't wind, and the crown is very hard...

CWC G10 - Premium Leather Strap?

I currently use a Rios 1931 clip on leather strap on my CWC G10, which is decent enough, but I also like the look of CWC's own "premium leather strap":

Usually not a fan of two-tone bracelets, but the gold-colored line picks up the details in the dial and hands quite nicely. I think it's the better pick here.
